I was just randomly thinking about the relation of the Dalish and Flemeth, and why they respect her, a human. But what if one Witch of the Wilds was an elf, and possesed by Flemeth she became the Keeper of a clan somewhere? :P Henio0 (talk) 17:56, April 11, 2013 (UTC)

The truth of Flemeth is... she's Andraste. Shadizar666 (Ruck Rules) 19:14, April 11, 2013 (UTC)
Oh mah gerd, not another one of these. I'm sorry Shadizar666, I feel you and everyone else who says that, MIGHT be right, but I'm not gonna derail Heni0's post, which, I think is a brilliant point.
But I have to ask about the implications of this, we know that Human/Elf relations forms a human, so if that were the case, Flemeth had to have kidnapped that elf girl to pull it off. Would they still respect her so much if they knew she stole one of their clan's children?
Also, what if they just repsect her cause they know she can turn into an 'effin' Dragon?Konous (talk) 19:21, April 11, 2013 (UTC)

I told so many times and I'll repeat it again. Everyone can become friend of Dalish if tries extremally hard. Grey Wardens gained respect of Dalish to made a war pact with them. The Warden helped a Dalish clan in fighting the werewolves and gained their trust and respect. She helped one of the clans long ago and that helped her to gain their respect. Besides Dalish clans are various, some are more hostile to humans , some less.78.8.132.240 (talk) 19:18, April 11, 2013 (UTC) Just call me Dalish fan

Yeah, sure we can become friends with them, but killing them all and forcing them into werewolf servitiude is just so much more satisfying. Konous (talk) 19:21, April 11, 2013 (UTC)

I highly doubt that the Dalish regard her for possessing one of them. Perhaps in the past she made a deal with Merril's clan (she would never do something out of the good of her heart). Moreover, I don't think that she could be Andraste either. You see, even though she could reinhabbit a person's body a richual is needed (Morrigan said that she describes it in the Grimoire) and I don't think she could do that while strapped on a log ready to be burned. If you read the Silent Grove then you know that she is more connected to *SPOILERS* rather than Andraste. Emilia Da'len (talk) 19:26, April 11, 2013 (UTC)

Its probably the case that the Dalish respect Flemeth so much because she really is one of the most powerful mages in the world. She's probably forgotten more than they'll ever know. But I'd say the Dalish are probably terrified of her, due to all that knowledge. The Dalish know that knowledge is a powerful thing, and what Flemeth knows, is certainly dangerous. --Madasamadthing (talk) 19:39, April 11, 2013 (UTC)

My theory is that because Flemeth has lived a very long time, regardless of whether she's a body-surfed Andraste, a high dragon, or whatever, with age comes wisdom, and the eyes dart across a lot of pages in that time. To put it simply, she may very be as old as Arlathan and serve as a repository for all sorts of information, including the lost magics and lore of the ancient elves. She is either unable or unwilling to disseminate what she knows to every Dalish Keeper, but she may tell them enough, and this leads them to respect her, even revere her as a Woman of Many Years.
