Ok we have had the Most Evil and the Most Badass DA characters so now it's time for the most irritating. It can be people that keep showing up and making your virtual life hell (eg Petrice) or characters that wouldn't bother you so much if they didn't keep saying the same damn thing over and over and OVER again!!!! Obviously, one of mine is Petrice. I would pay money to stick a knife in her just on principle.Devilkat (talk) 00:19, August 27, 2011 (UTC)
- It's actually "fine dwarven crap straight from Orzammar". (VicGeorge2K9 (talk) 04:27, August 27, 2011 (UTC))
DA2 Anders (not awakening Anders). All he did was wine all the time about the plight of the mages and when he finally decided to do something he decided to kill innocent people. Worst. Plan. Ever. Of all time. All they did was change him into a brooding emo, I mean he even ends up wearing a black outfit! Aleksandr the Great (talk) 01:13, August 27, 2011 (UTC)
Glad to see someone else doing these, and its got to be...............ULDRED! that fool makes me do that damn! Circle tower demon quest thing each time and it is sooooooooo boring. - Love your friendly neighbourhood Spiderman--TheRageMage (talk) 01:40, August 27, 2011 (UTC)TheRageMage
A tie, I'd say, between Gorim and Sister Theochild. Pretty much anyone that repeats the same. God. Damn. Effing. Thing EVERY time you run past them. Friends of mine that had never played the game could recite exactly when those two would kick in simply from over-hearing it when I would play! Mrs.AlistairTheirin 01:49, August 27, 2011 (UTC)
From DAO, it's Jowan for me. That guy is so annoyingly stupid that he made mage origin a nightmare for me. I wanted to roll a mage first time I played DAO, but due to him I changed to Dalish elf...then he shows up anyway! In DA2 it was Anders, he really talks way too much about the mages plight, it gets boring really quick.--SunyiNyufi (talk) 02:00, August 27, 2011 (UTC)
How IN THE WORLD IS ISOLDE NOT ON THIS LIST http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Wy1uce8JS8&feature=related watch this and you will be reminded how FRICKING ANNOYING she is --TrentCousland (talk) 02:52, August 27, 2011 (UTC)
In Origins I would have to say... Tegan. The dude didn't even fight to defend the village. In DA2. I would have to agree with Mother Patrice. Her religious banter was getting on my last nerve. She thought she was holy, and thanks to the Qunari, she is. GreyWolf84 (talk) 04:47, August 27, 2011 (UTC)
Gorim came to mind first. Where's the "None of your frickin stock even comes close to the stuff I already have," option?
Then again, the Arishok and his emotional issues shitted me. Where's the "Whoever the guy is that broke your heart, just let it go, he's gone," option?
I think it's both merrill and zevran. I'ma horrible racist when it comes to elfs I think they should all be slaves. but i really hate zevran i allways slit his throat. Ruairi46 (talk) 11:05, August 27, 2011 (UTC)
For me Shale is the most annoying character. I don't like anything about her from voice to appearance and her sick philosophy. And I also don't think that her fear for pigeons is funny, hovewer I have a theory. Bodahn went to Amgarrak, met Shale, had sex with her, a pigeon blessed them and finally Sandal was born. Maybe we will have a dlc where Sandal is an actve party member and we learn about his origin, what do you think? [Bartosz] 13:10, August 27, 2011
Dragon Age III plot theory : Morrigan does a dark ritual with Sandal. A new enchanted archdemon is born, sixth plague begins, only Sandal can stop it. So Sandal is our protagonist in Dragon Age 3 :) [Bartosz] 13:23, August 27, 2011
Companions: The one I hate the most is Wynne. She always tries to teach me stuff and is so stubborn, when I say stuff to her she just takes offense. She thinks she's so much better and yet doesn't remember that she was a racist young mage who got pregnant and had to give her child to the Chantry. But it's okay for her to scold the Warden for nothing comparing to what a racist slut she was.
Next one I dislike is Leliana. She pretends to be so religious, yet she also fakes being chosen by the Maker. I like how she gets pwnd by the guard of Andraste's Ashes when he says that the Maker left and the only woman He ever spoke to was Andraste and Leliana thinks she is at least as important as Andraste. She is a Drqagon Age attention whore. :P What I also dislike about her is that she was more or less a prostitute in the past and by her own choosing. She had sex with her targets, she is bisexual, and she has a horrible Orlesian accent. I don't like the way that she has to to romanced. First she has to be told you believe her vision, then you need to admire that she had sex with strange men and women. I never really finished romancing her because of the ethical hangover I had every time I lied to get in her pants.
There are some minor problems with other characters, but not really worth mentioning.
Branka. I don't really know why. Maybe because I don't like dwarven women. Plus she is so blinded with the anvil.
Pyral Harrowmont I dislike because he pretends to be so good, but yet treats the castless like non-dwarves. That's why I always choose Bhelen from now on, simply because he gives rights to the willing castless. Plus Harrowmont is just too weak to be the king of dwarves.
Arl Eamon's Wife What's Her Face. Once again Orlesian accent and the general thinking that she's better than everyone else. She's so selfish - she hired a blood mage to teach her son, she made Eamon give Alistair to the Chantry....
I don't like the elves that disrespect you even if you show nothing but respect. Mainly the one at the "gate" to Dalish camp and the one by the fire telling about the forest.
The son of the Arl of Denerim in city elf origin. He's just so racist I kill him every time I can and still it's not enough.
Duncan. Yeah. I as a Warden and then Warden-Commander had to involve myself in so much more than simple darkspawn killing, but does he? In none of the origins is Duncan helpful. I like him as a character but I don't like his actions.
Hnmm, I'm sure there was more, but I can't think of them at the moment. :P Anyway, I know it's long and it's a bunch of whining, and on some of these I overreacted, but I wanted to get this off my chest. :) I'll write down DA2 ones in a separate one. Henio0 (talk) 12:05, August 27, 2011 (UTC)
From Origins, I'd say Anora. She's a total bitch, siding with whomever will make her a queen. Too bad you can't kill her but at least you can see her crying for Loghain. Isolde, that guy that you have to marry if you're female denerim elf origin, Wade and the counter guy and some others are kinda irritating too. And Sten. I don't dislike him that much, but it annoys me when he says about women not being warriors or when about someone's place in the world. From Awakening, Velanna. She's always too short tempered. And from DA2, it'd be Danarius, Hubert, Leandra (I hate how she considers you responsible for Carver/Bethany's death). And Sebastian a bit. He's naive and immature and believes what he does is the will of the maker. And he's especially annoying when the Chantry's being blown up. I love to make him a rival or better, a friend, and make him mad in the end when I don't kill Anders=P Korina8 (talk) 3:46, August 27, 2011 (UTC)
In Origins, if talking about annoyance, the 'fine dwarven crap'-type yellers take the cake, hands down. A close second is Morrigan, though. In Awakening, Velanna, due to murdering tons of people and accosting my party because she didn't bother to think; the Amaranthine nobles with their goddarn conspiracies come close to that though. In DA2, the competition is much more heated, but the winner is Anders. What happened to my favourite party member from Awakening? Awakening-issue him and Varric woulda made my DA2 unforgettable, but he just had to go and become a singleminded the-ends-justify-the-means idiot. At least I have the option to let him live the hell that he made. A close second is Fenris, no less emo than Anders but with a different rhetoric. Elthina also gains a lot of annoyance points by going 'let's just all be friends' where her action could've saved the situation (before the act 2 finale). Merrill is there as well due to her naive ignorance and no less naive demon-dealings, but this is mitigated by her being my Hawke's love and the fact that she does get what's coming to her in a very appropriate way. Almost forgot Carver, who's essentially a mini-Anders to me, behaving as if he was posessed by a pride demon. Didn't even bother with Sebastian, due to his religion-flavoured naivete the above editor has appropriately described. ...What is it with DA2 character design and emo and naivete amounts? Must be lyrium in the water.___
There aren't really any characters that annoy me per se. However having said that, I always hate talking to Marjolaine and Erlina because their accents are just so hideous, listening to them talk makes my head hurt.Violet Rogue (talk) 02:02, August 28, 2011 (UTC)
Knight Commander Meredith wasn't as annoying as Sister Petrice, but I still found her self-righteous condescension and complete intolerance of magic irritating, even if she was insane. Fritzywiggins (talk) 04:40, August 28, 2011 (UTC)
Hawke. Because he's wimp and tries to replace our beloved Wardens. DA2 gay-Anders and Ihatemagesarghhhhh!!!!-Fenris are kinda annoying, but at least I can kill them! And Morrigan, yesss. I felt so awesome when my blade pierced her flesh... Egoistic Bitches must die. Isabella was annoying, so bye-bye, egoistic bitch. Qunari took her. Well... who else?.. Hmm, I'm fine with all others. But the most annoying person? LAIDLOW! Chari Chariya (talk) August 28, 2011 (UTC)
The “Dwarven crafts! Fine Dwarven crafts guy.” I mean, when want stuff from Orzammar I go to Orzammar. He’s like the mail guy from Twilight Princess and Herbert Moon from Red Dead Redemption. As for Dragon Age II. It’s Sandal. I loved him in the first game but they changed his voiceover . . . And it’s really, really crappy. --Ishimura Elite (talk) 03:28, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
All of the Orlesians. I already HATE french accent in any language, french included(and french is my mother tongue) but it is even worse when most of the characters are voiced by english speakers badly imitating it. I like Leliana's, though: being a bard, she seems to have a good ear and can thus speak a language without butchering it. And then, Marjolaine comes and destroys my theory. did I mention I HATE Orlesians? --Appleseater (talk) 09:27, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
- "Oh, but ze Hanged Man is so filthy!" I can't help but laugh at that. (VicGeorge2K9 (talk) 11:36, September 29, 2011 (UTC))
DAO: Elf rapist guy. I happen to like Isolde actually, lots of people don't though. Hate Anora and her father, and hate Leliana,
DA2 PETRICE. You just want to hit her. Orsino and all the blood mages. Merill--she is innocent to the point of stupidity, I hate her self-righteousness, but I like hearing Eve Myles' voice, which is why I don't skip her dialogue :) Also wished I could play a rogue and not have Bethany the emo sister around.
Okay, I'm gonna say it...I'm not a huge fan of Varric. He annoys me sometimes.
I thought Merrill was SO adorable; I love Eve Myles. And I just wanted to wring Merrill's neck. Everyone is wrong, but her. Her Keeper is wrong. The knowledge of all the Keepers who went before is wrong. Every mage she's ever met is wrong. Every elf she's ever met? Wrong. You see the train wreck happening in slow motion from the moment you meet her and no matter what anyone says she will not get off the tracks. --+|| Legionnaire Scout -- talk ||+ 12:26, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
- ...And while I'm at it, a shout out for DA:2's Odd Couple, Fenris and Anders. They have so much in common:
- They both hate bloodmages
- They both hate slavery
- They both think Merrill is a walking time bomb
- They both think Carver's a twit
- They squabble over Hawke
- They hate each other
- That's why they hate each other so much. Because they are too much alike. People who are too much alike often see their faults in each other. This is especially true when Anders says to me "Surely you want someone more openminded (than Fenris)" my jaw dropped. Like seriously? Xelestial (talk) 16:18, October 1, 2011 (UTC)
Anders 2. I was so annoyed every time he opened his mouth that he made me wish Anders 1 was back--who would have been my answer if not for Mr. One-track-whine. (And just to go on record: I actually liked Anora...) HELO (talk) 20:31, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
I found Merrill to be rather insufferable. At first she was all adorable and naive, and I was like "dawww," but then she got all mad at me for no reason. I'd try to agree with her, and all I would get was rivalry points. I never got her up to full friendship, so eventually I just gave up and went for full-on hatred. It was a lot funnier, because she turned all racist and called me a shemlen. I also hated Anora, because she kept throwing me under the bus. The fine dwarven crafts guy made me want to cut something. And that Dalish in Awakening. I can't remember her name. Velanna or whatever. Her outfit was gross. Marleysauce (talk) 22:58, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
- Lol agree so much. So funny about Merrill rivalrly, now I want to do it. Xelestial (talk) 16:18, October 1, 2011 (UTC)
The massive volume of NPC's with the same voice as Jowan and Anora, among others, just so many people in Ferelden sound exactly the same... I found DA2 much more tolerable in this regard. Tommyspa (talk) 23:03, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
For me, it's either Petrice or Jarvia. Hated the both of them with a passion. I loved how Jarvia yells, "I'm gonna wear your pretty, pretty teeth around my wrist!" Yeah, well my warden soon wore hers instead. :D And Petrice....she had what she got coming to her. Arrow straight through that chest of hers! OH and Grace? Was so happy to get to the end of her! Ungrateful snot. Hawke should leave her for dead inthat cave when you meet her. 22.214.171.124 (talk) 20:18, September 30, 2011 (UTC)
I loved both versions of Anders, I just wish I knew his name. For me it would have to be Pancake face (Anora), Fishlips (Leliana) and the Viscount. Anora was far too one-track, overconfident to the point of idiocy. Leliana was self righteous and annoying and the Viscount was worthless. And no matter the minor irritants, I pretty much adored everyone else :D ````
1.Every religious fool that believes in the chantry and their irritating self-righteousness. (Petrice, Knight-Commander Meredith, Elthina, etc.)
2.Wynne, she is like morrigan said a preachy school mistress.
3.Fenris and Anders (DA2). Fenris hates the mages and would like them to remain slaves to the chantry yet he hates slavery and slavers. Anders, although mostly caused by Justice, is too emotional which is annoying (though i still supported him when it involved freeing the mages from the chantry).--Hakuteiken (talk) 15:10, October 1, 2011 (UTC)
There are so many picks, so let's start with the self-righteous pricks like Anora and Loghain, who thinks that everything that they do it's the freaking best for Ferelden and everyone against them is an orlesian loving warlock that wants to enslave Ferelden or someone who just doesn't see that the mad-power crazy bitch it's the best for the country; or the Arishok and the Qunari in general because "mages are evil unless we're getting our asses kicked, then mages are fine" and those freaking ignorant and hippocrytal remarks they make every time. And I can remember many more Petrice, Meredith, Tahrone, but let's move foward to the simply annoying ones: Isolde "TEA-GAN" Guerrin, Bodahn that makes me a "special discount" that somehow doubles the price of everything, Zathrian and those damn dalish, I'm like helping those idiots with all their problems and they just keep disrespecting me and not selling their sh(*). There's the DAII Anders who's a complete whining idiot that keeps shouting "MAGE FREEDOM! YADDA, YADDA TEMPLARS ARE EVIL" and Fenris that, with the exception of some great moments, is a brooding, annoying elf JUST LIKE Anders but with a hate towards magic. Wynne that's an annoying, prechy old woman, I would kill her but she's a spirit healer and invaluble to teach that specialization. There was the lazy-ass Viscount Dumar that couldn't do absolutely anything.
I think that's most of them.Te Shukalaryc Mand'alor 15:16, October 1, 2011 (UTC)
It's funny, I love Anders in all the games, and I think he's a great and interesting character in DA2. But no one could annoy me like he did. And as a result, no one could annoy him like I did, cept maybe Fenris. Maybe that's why we got along so well. Velanna, Merrill, Petrice, Anora, Isolde and Loghain's face all get very honorable mentions.Xelestial (talk) 16:15, October 1, 2011 (UTC)
Personality wise? Defiantely Isolde. Deeds? Hawke or Anders. 16:22, October 1, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, you've got to love the fact that whatever your personnality or actions, you end up strating a Thedas-wide war. I think I mentionned in an older post that Hawke is an incredibly powerful troll. You killed Flemeth in Origins? No, you didn't. You helped the mages and templars of Ferelden? Well, Hawke made sure they would be killing each other in the future. Thanks, Hawke. --Appleseater (talk) 17:37, October 1, 2011 (UTC)
- Heh. Quite true. I think what also irritates me is the absence of pro-activeness found in Hawke, and the fact that the important things in the game could have happened without them. I don't want to turn this into a Hawke thread though, so back to annoying characters! 17:49, October 1, 2011 (UTC)
In order of irritation factor:
- 1 Isolde (Who is thees mahn,Tee-gahn? Umm, I'm the guy that's going to turn you into a blood-filled battery. Enjoy.)
- 2 DA2 Anders (Whine, whine, bitch, bitch, moan, moan, BOOOOOM, I had to do it. Ok, now you're dead, Anders.)
- 3 Sister Petrice (Manipulative bitch. Enjoy your new, ventilated skull.)
- 4 Fenris (Uggh, that voice! Just go away.)
- 5 Jowan (I just want to do what's right! Well, you can't, obviously. Oh, but you can kill #1. Thanks.)
- 6 Leandra (Quit crying! It's not my fault, you whiny bitch.)
- 7 Arl Howe (Snake.)
- 8 Loghain (Snake handler.)
- 9 Loghain's Wiper (Loghain is not a king. Quit calling him King Loghain.)
- 10 Origins Cullen (Blood mages are scary! They work their fingers into your mind!!!! Yeah, yeah. I'm going up to kill Uldred and save the rest, so quit preaching. I have to get moving, you douche.)
