I got bored today and thought why dont I make a nice list of my favorite companions (excluding all DlC including awakening I really cant be asked to do awakening characters as well yes i am that lazy)

1.Varric 2.Isabela 3.Morrigan 4.Alistair 5.Shale 6.Zevran 7.Leliana 8.Merrill 9.Aveline 10.Sten 11.Oghren 12.Beth/Carver 13.Wynne 14.Sebastian 15.Dog 16.Fenris 17.Anders (to be fair i hate him only because the game makes you hate him yet he is a usefull companion.....which made that choice reaaaaalll difficult) Sorry if i forgot anyone feel free to call me a disgraceful noob for missing out a companion by accident and this isent really a fully complete list, by that i mean i havent thought through all the choices

7. Anders (I felt sorry for the guy)

8. Alistair

10. Merrill (kinda low for the one I romanced in DA2)

11. Zevran

12. Wynne

13. Aveline

14. Shale

15. Carver/ Bethany

Then I hated these two pricks

16. Fenris (he was soo grumpy all the time)

17. Sebastian (his whole holier-than-thou, kill your friend Anders or I will strop at you for a bit act just got sooo boring)

My Hawke was against slavery, but he was really tempted to send Fenris into it for the Tevinter mage guy when he had the chance!

I'll just do my Top 5, from DA:O.

1. Alistair; 2. Leliana; 3. Morrigan; 4. Oghren; 5. Wynne.

I use all the party members during the game, but I tend to most like the 'good' characters and the ones whose stories follow a character arc through the game. Sten and Shale are okay, but to me they don't feel as bonded to my Warden. I always follow the friend path with Zevran, but can never 100% like him because I know his initial oath is worthless unless his approval reaches Warm. Meh ... I didn't like Jowan much. Despite the first time I met him he was in Redcliffe Dungeons and in trouble for blood magic etc. he was still surly, cocky and a bit of a know-it-all ... I don't know what happened to him though (killed connor, didn't use a magic ritual) he just disappeared from the game. User:Eggy2504 11:38, 11 June, 2011

Ah, the layers of Jowan's character are beautiful to me. The man is a lovable idiot that gives all of himself for love and always winds up two steps back from where he started. The game was kind enough to let me be his friend, help him escape to freedom with his lady love, then punch me in the face by never being able to remedy his mistakes and bring him permanently into the fold where he could have found a greater purpose in life. His cynicism for nonsensical poetic babble helps me relate to him on another personal level, and he deserved to be given a proper ending and a resolution to his feelings for Lily, not to mention the unknown fate of Lily herself. So much potential squandered... It saddens me. Jowan is an awesome character to me, and he's my bro from the circle to boot. I would have to say that the companion I dislike the most would have to be Anders. I liked him in Awakening, but as far as DA2 goes? I did not like him one bit, the incessant prattling about the plight of the mages rubbed me the wrong way along with a few incidents regarding the explosion of holy buildings. My dislike of Anders probably seems odd considering I have Fenris listed as my favourite companion, but I suppose I have a bias towards broody characters in general.
