If Red templars have knight commander with attitude like Meredith as their supreme leader, then the all is clear. Behemoths are their leaders are rather unlikely. They can also worship red lyrium like in Dead Space Unitologists worships the obelisks. Do you think Red templars have any leaders or just answer to demons like darkspawn to archdemons or something else? I still believe Red templars are splinter group from templar order, without Lambert van Reeves whole his army could simply split on more and less radical groups.
