I was playing through Awakening and I wanted to know if not putting Sigrun and Velanna through the joining has any adverse affects on quests, dialogue and gameplay. If not, is it 100% nessesary to put both through the joining anyway.Because I heard/read that the last companion you recruit doesn't have the line for the joining from Varel meaning I always thought that I had to do the Blackmarsh last because Justice didn't need to go through the joining. So my main question is: Is it possible to complete Blackmarsh 1st or 2nd (Not last) and still get Sigrun and Velanna through the joining?
Once you complete Blackmarsh, you can't put anyone through the joining because when you return to the keep you are told you have to head to Amaranthine. I'm not sure about Velanna, but during one playthrough I completely forgot to have Sigrun go through the joining and during the epilogue it mentioned she was upset over it and left. That is wrong. its is possible to complete the black marsh first then have Sigrun and Velanna undertake the joining. The glitch in question prevents you from joining new members once all three main quests have been completed, because Varel will speak to you about the mothers army - or what have you - and not allow you the option of inducting the new members.
If you have completed the black marsh then it is recommended (during your third quest) to return to vigils keep once you have recruited either sigrun or velanna during their quest and "join" them early (it doesn't make much sense story wise but it works through the glitch without much more than 10 minutes of walking and loading.) - Minus that one time, I always put Velanna and Sigrun through the joining (together) before heading to the Blackmarsh so I was not even aware there was a glitch.
