Aveline looks like a woman on steroids and Isabella is not my type, damn it. I hope there is another one...if not then what a letdown. I must agree that I don't like what the have done with Isabella since Origins, but she is the best so far, is Merril (I think thats her nam) a possible companion cause she is not bad. I don't like what they've done much, improve the graphics sure and make few changes but it's like they've ignored everything from origins what Isabella looked like (face wise) and Merril looks like someone from an anime turned 3D —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.138.243.15 (talk)

I think Bethany looks pretty, thought I know she will change based on the main Hawke, she is however not the most obvious romance choice(Lesbians and sisters that would be different). Isabella also looks pretty and I don't care that she looks different in DAO. Bethany and Isabella could be my replacements for Morrigan and Leliana. They are not an upgrade over Morrigan, or Leliana (depending on where she is standing, lighting etc. She was a two face in game IMO but ridiculously cute/sexy in the trailer) that's for sure. Isabella, given we know she's kind of a freak already will probably merit an initial go, she looks okay. She's supposed to be the holy crap, look at her! girl, but she has nothing on Morrigan and the witch's outfit, which contributed greatly to her...um...appeal. Sadly, it seems Bethany is the hottest. Not going there. The elf is a MAJOR disappointment based on the picture. She looks 12, maybe. The other one, Aveline, no. You need a crocodile dundee check on her first. The graphics overall may be an upgrade, so I've heard, but the characters don't seem to be much of one really. So far. It's early. The game itself could change this. We'll see. I agree with PeterR that Bethany looks beautiful, but she is Hawke's sister, so off-limits for me. And the default female Hawke looks quite hot too. Aveline looks like what she is, a true warrior. but she's indeed a bit too manly in my eyes. But Bioware may suprise us (remember the difference between the sacred ashes and the in-game Leliana?). Well I don't like tough women, I like unrealistic women that are too cute to be warriors.. this game is...well too realistic XD!...aveline as I said in my original post looks like a police woman/prison warden/military/bodybuilder... Isabela well I guess she is okay but I don't find her attractive... Look around ostagar and many female warriors in Dao, They have cute faces and even makeup... haha!. In my opinion Merril is cute and I didn't knew she was a potential lover when I started the topic...but as you say she is the best so far. Just a clarification...Merill is not "confirmed" as a romance option yet. During the "Dev Diary Story Trailer", she is shown as the "virginal girl next door", compared to Isabela's "crazy up-against-wall" girl. So I'm working off that assumption. FreeMarcher930 (talk) 02:00, January 26, 2011 (UTC)

I honestly don't see what the problem is with Isabela. She looks way better in Dragon Age II than in Origins. Unless there's some screen shot I haven't seen where she's hideous, her appearance is vastly improved. Has anyone noticed that the women in DA2 are OVERLY busty. I mean seriously. With Isabella it's obvious, but after playing the demo I was like WOAH. Bethany, Hawke, Isabella, even Merrill. I liked DAO better in that it was a little more realistic, now they're just turning the female characters into fan-boy-fetishes. I guess it's great for the men that play this game, but as a lady... You forgot Mama Hawke. Even she's got a little too much. I wouldn't say that this is exclusively the case for DA 2, though, because Leliana, Morrigan, even Wynne, had quite the bust. Obviously there are no human females that aren't quite that... developed. As for the topic of this thread: I actually like the variety they tried to bring into DA 2. Aveline is a warrior and looks the part while Merrill is a sweet little doll and Isabela a seductress who knows exactly that she's attractive. Ghilan'nain, February 24, 2011, 15:49 (UTC)

It isn't just her :P The first thing that popped into my head when all 3 family members of Hawke's entourage were standing there arguing was Holy Boobs Batman. Yes there were chests in the first game but NOT to the extent of being bloody distracting. Its a bit much here. Don't worry, it's just you! And I really get sick of the whole *well, that's how Varric sees the darkspawn, it's not how they actually look!* No, that's how Bioware has decided they look. Varric's elaborations are to the story itself, not the appearances. And, going back to the female characters, I really think Aveline should have been female only. Well, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. And I personally behold beauty in my eyes ;) I think Isabela is quite beautiful. I love her dark skinned exotic look, nice contrast to the paleness of previous women in the game. Merrill is very cute, but so far from what I have seen, she looks a little too young. I hope I am proven wrong. Cassandra(sp?) has a gorgeous pair of smokey eyes. Aveline reminds me of a lioness for some reason. And the main pre-set for FemHawke is HOT! Not to sound like a total jerk, but it is far too soon to tell who is hot or not, aside from the demo there has not been a whole lot of images at all. But as far as looks go: Bethany is alright, but she is Hawke's sister so that is a no go, Isabella is not ment to have the focus placed on her face.... but more south of that, Merrill is kinda dainty but not unatractive, and Aveline has that strong macho look. Well, as for my opnion, I think the women are okay. Bethany is very, very pretty (I love how Varric completly exagerrates her breats at the start of the demo), not in an incest/lesbian way, but she's the only decent one I have seen (excluding fem!Hawke). Isabela is... I just couldn't stop staring at her chest 'cuz it intimidated me. Merrill looks a bit weird but still cool. Don't know where you guys got the idea of her being from an anime. Default fem!Hawke is soooooooo pretty...
