I... Wanted to romance Varric. After reading the Varric thread and choking in my own saliva of so much laugh, I started to like the idea of him being romanced, but, alas, after BioWare spoke that there'll be no dwarf, it greatly made me sad. —Rocketai (<small>Ho there! • Chase my tail!</small>) 19:33, February 24, 2011 (UTC)

I can never romance a character with a different race then myself. I don't know why. I would hate to romance Morrigan or Leliana with a Elf Male or a Dwarf Male - specially the last one. It feels so awkward. It like I'm kissing Ogre with a human character given the height difference.

Also that would make my character slow because he would to carry a wooden crate all the time in his back so that when he wanted to kiss either of them he could just to the crate to reach their lips. --81.84.239.100 (talk) 19:40, February 24, 2011 (UTC)DeadlySins

I've spent a lot of time on the Bioware Forums and I "stole" them this topic. Since Dragon Age 2 is pretty much done, all of our requests are impossible to be done in time, but I'm curious about what you would like to see in Dragon Age 2.

Being a Dragon Age: Origins junkie, I liked that we had six starting areas and diffrent classes/races combinations. I like customization and Dragon Age 2 has it's limits because we just have Hawke as a player character.

Now, I'm not saying I would like to have different Origins like in the original game. I was thinking about a different path. I would like to play as either Hawke, Aveline, Isabela, etc... I mean, each companion could be a played by us and all of them would have different starting areas. For instance, if we choose to play as Aveline, we would have her husband as a temporary party member, fighting against the Darkspawn until we found Hawke or if we choose Isabela we could see all the fuss about the Relic she lost and we could have the opinion to either release or deliver the slaves to Castillon.

Also, since Aveline's husband was a Templar, Bethany and Merrill for instance could have a Rivalry relationship with Aveline's (as a player character) at least when we first meet them.

Of course, all of this would mean that Hawke couldn't be the Hero in Dragon Age 2. The Hero would be whoever we choose to play.

I always thought about this and how awesome it would be to play with whoever character we wanted in Origins. Would be fun to know a bit more about Flemeth as Morrigan or go through the Templar's training and meeting Duncan as Alistair. --DeadlySins (talk) 18:29, February 24, 2011 (UTC)DeadlySins

I myself would like to see an a dual-story system. Where the story would change the player's perspective as they playthrough two different characters, who's actions would cause a reaction on the world that the other character could see and react to as well. They would be two characters on seperate sides of the conflict and at the end the player would decide which side and character wins. Both sides would be compelling and both sides cast of characters would be equally compelling making for a tough ending.

That and maybe a more fanciful UI.-- C2 / CC 18:40, February 24, 2011 (UTC)

Assuming that the demo is indicative of the actual first bit of gameplay, I'm a little sad that there wasn't anything devoted to Warrior/Rogue Hawke and Carver at Ostagar or Mage Hawke and Bethany in Lothering. It would have been nice to see the Ostagar fiasco from the perspective of a common soldier, or the early signs of the Darkspawn invasion from the perspective of a hedge mage in the village.130.18.16.128 (talk) 18:44, February 24, 2011 (UTC)

I completely agree that it would be amazing to play as our original companions seeing what was happening with each before the events of the game (I mean I like Leliana and enjoyed Leliana's Song, but I would have preferred seeing the others beginnings). While I do have reservations about switching the focus off of the Grey Warden onto Hawke I'm sure it will be fine. But this is what ties into my impossible demand I really do want my Grey Warden back, I want a continuing story of my first characters. I know I sound like a complete fangirl but I really wanted to see more of these companions. In the apprehensions for DA2 forum I compared it to KOTOR 1 and 2 (I know Bioware didn't develop the sequel) in getting a brand new cast that I really didn't want or care for. But like you said it's too late now and I will have to be satisfied with possible cameo's and I'm sure DA2 will be wonderful.Greywardenkt (talk) 18:52, February 24, 2011 (UTC)Greywardenkt 2/24/2011

Although I did liked Leliana's Song, it could be so much more then it is. I mean, they could've skip right after we talk to Marjolaine and given us a chance to play with her (I don't know, doing some Chantry stuff, maybe some Chantry Board Quests) until she met the Warden.

But what I would like to see it was to actually play an entire game with the companion that I wanted. Hell, for all I care, they could have erased all origins in the Original game and make the story around Alistair like Darkspawn Chronicles DLC. If our Warden died or if he didn't existed, Alistair would be the one to step up and do all the things our Warden did. I know wI would love to play as Morrigan and as Sten or even as Alistair. --DeadlySins (talk) 19:15, February 24, 2011 (UTC)DeadlySins
