I'm a female rogue, with Aveline, the sister and the elf mage. I set as casual level, but Danzig is shit! I can't drink the potions. What's a good way to defeat him?116.89.110.8 (talk) 13:19, October 3, 2013 (UTC)ilkar

Potions timers is a cooldown, you can't spam them, you have to wait between uses 3. This is not the final boss, this is a mid-boss enemy in the early game, reaching the final level is irrelevant because you won't be near it... YGuy (talk) 09:59, October 4, 2013 (UTC)

Are you playing on Nightmare level? You can lower difficulty level. If you want to play hard way, then I suggest Aveline to take attention of most of opponents and she should have a lot of health. Merrill can use earth magic to immobilize Danzig or his toughter bodyguard. Bethany can use fire magic on crowd, so can Merrill or use electrical magic. If your Hawke is an archer, the use rain of arrows and if dual weapon wielder, then may she focus on eliminating weaker enemies to have stronger ones to finish later. Don't forget that Cooperation is Power, meaning you can use Cross-class combo.78.8.247.72 (talk) 13:35, October 3, 2013 (UTC)StubbornMageSlayer
He said he tried casual difficulty...
In DA2 in casual level not a single enemy is hard, seriously, not even the scariest bosses. I've been playing easy/casual DA1/2 because I want to complete 8 playthroughs before DA3. So you probably have some exotic build of attributes (not skills, you can easily kill with auto attacks), VERY underpowered equipments or are overlooking some heavy damage skill from your enemies, even if the later is true, in casual it shouldn't be a problem, I don't even put points in constitution (even in hard/nightmare difficulties, and I don't use potions, ever), casual is pretty much watching your party killing everything, most times I can't even hit enemies before they're dead unless I use Vendetta, even without custom tactics. Provide some more information like you stats build or equipment... but as I finished all this writting I realized... you lack Anders: Panacea + Healing + Group Healing = Win. I admit I misread, but you can admit that cooperation means power.78.8.247.72 (talk) 14:33, October 3, 2013 (UTC)StubbornMageSlayer

2. In any event, by this time of your playthrough, you should have defeated several sub-boss level mages. The ones with a big health bar. Danzig is no different, so treat him just the like - focus all your rogue's offensive abilities on him and expose him to cross-class combos.

In a solo game, perhaps. Bioware party-based RPGs are almost notorious for the strength of NPC party members. I don't even talk about damaging it. -Algol- (talk) 20:33, October 3, 2013 (UTC)

Take Fenris he'll kill him for you if you choose the right options in convo simples Kyz99 (talk) 22:28, October 3, 2013 (UTC)Kyz99

^Best advice so far, kudos XD
I recommend taking Fenris with you. He's fast and powerful. There is an option to have him make Danzig talk that involves Fenris, plus, he likes killing slavers so you can get on his good side there. Merril and Aveline are also good to have in that party.--BlueChaosFaerie (talk) 19:11, October 4, 2013 (UTC)

Merchants, actually beside them; talking to the merchant doesn't activate the table, talk to the table. Shadizar666 (Ruck Rules) 00:47, October 5, 2013 (UTC)

well Danzig is a mage, by nature most mages have pretty awesome spells but weak physical attacks and not a terrible amount of health. That being the case, I would switch up your party and bring as many heavy hitters as you have. I would also suggest altering their tactics so that they take potions if their health falls below 25%. Since you are having trouble with Danzig, this will be a helpful change for the rest of the game. Also, as a rogue are you specializing in close combat or the bow and arrow? If Bow and Arrow I would suggest heading to the black emporium and redistributing your skills to focus on close combat. Now, with a bunch of melee fighters and a close quarters rogue, bum rush him and beat him like he stole something. Focus on him first, take out his lackeys after he falls. Hope this helpsDeadpoolN7 (talk) 02:03, October 6, 2013 (UTC)

Hi Deadpool :) I am a rogue with close combat and this is first time so I find that levelling up archery is challenging. I passed the danzig, now on Act 2 and the bastard Ser varnell. Accd to many on youtube, worst level ever. x x Wow many responses, actually I'm a girl but i'm using a male elf name. My very 1st time.Yes at casual level, pc. Yea i went to this quest early on, haven't defeated other bosses yet. I have just done some quests inside the castle and went to Sundamount to bring the amulet. My Hawke seems better with 2 handed knives. Yes Raoniluna, i didn't have Anders. Since i got fedup of dying i quit and after the other quest, got Anders. I Won! yay! (heard there are many bugs, and it's ok to get a free trial by download, then decide if good or not. It's one of the marketing ploys like Cafes launch giving free food. :) so awesome)

@ Guy, yes That's what i mean the stupid timer! when mages can't heal, it's so frustrating to wait! I was ans the other people above, when they told me about Nightmare level!

Dear OP, I would advise against editing and deleting the comments others have left, we can still see what you deleted by looking at the history, and the common theme concerning the deleted content makes it pretty obvious why you did it. Please restrain your foolishness. YGuy (talk) 15:35, October 13, 2013 (UTC)
