Hey guys. I'm looking for a little help here. I have a Male Human Noble that I'm planning on making marry Anora. Problem is, I'm trying to avoid killing or exiling Alistair. I've heard there was an option to make him stay with the Wardens, but the question is how? ANy help would be greatly appreciated. Sgt Ginger (talk) 20:48, February 16, 2012 (UTC)

The simplest solution is to let Alistair kill Loghain. That way he won't wnat to leave, and the issue of Anora refusing to marry her father's murderer is avoided. Ass uming Alistair is not hardened, of course. ----Isolationistmagi 20:56, February 16, 2012 (UTC)

Seconded. It's vital that you don't kill Loghain if you want to marry Anora. Alistair must be the one to do it. Then simply declare you'll rule beside Anora when Arl Eamon asks you, Anora will ask Alistair to swear an oath of fealty and that's it, really. I was going to say, "Isolationistmagi's" mentioned that his solution was the simplest, I believe that that is the only solution.
The three possible outcomes for Alastair are King, Warden or Vagrant. If he is to become King (alone or with Anora), then Logain must die. If he is to remain a Warden, Anora must become Queen (alone of with the Warden), and again Logain must die. To become a Vagrant, Logain must be spared. Though I could be wrong.
As others have said, Anora won't marry whoever kills her father; so if Alisair is to marry her then the Warden must execute him, and vice versa. It is also not possible to have both Alisair and Logain in your party; if you want Alistair, Logain has to die. If you want Logain, then you have to abandon or execute Alistair. It is possible for Alistair to be King and Loghain to be alive. I've done this with my Dwarven Noble. Alistair was hardened and had been persuaded to marry Anora. He'll still throw a hissy fit and leave the party when you make Loghain a Warden, but he will become King and marry Anora afterwards. And if you feed Loghain to the Archdemon, he'll even somewhat reconcile with the Warden during the epilogue.

The one that's not possible is to have Loghain alive and Alistair a Warden. Nilfalasiel (talk) 11:37, February 17, 2012 (UTC)

Logain doesn't have to die for Alister to become king - if you harden him and pre-arrange his engagment to Anora then he will become a joint monarch with her if you spare Logain - he will not like it muchy and Anora won't like his attitude but it can be done. I didn't get to talk to Alister again after the battle which is a shame but it's nice to know he sort of forgives you.
