Do you want to see Hawke in DA3? For me I would like to see Hawke as a companion, to see him/her taking an active role in DA3 would be good for the mage/templar war story. Feel free to add your idea about seeing Hawke in DA3. 203.45.127.20 (talk) 01:42, June 19, 2012 (UTC)Darkside

I think he'll show up as a cameo or maybe even a minor character, but not as a companion simply because Bioware won't take the time to do that. Good thing too, I was tired of Hawke after DAII. For me, the ideal role for Hawke is small but has an effect on the plot overall. ----Isolationistmagi 01:50, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

Agreed. If Hawke has to show up at all, it should be as a cameo. --Liam Sionnach (talk) 04:55, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

I prefer that he does not show up at all, I prefer that there is no reference to the previous games at all. The DA:O references in DA2 especially the camoes of the charecters was one of the many many things that made DA2 bad, no not bad, THE WORST SEQUEL EVER.-rphb- (talk) 08:52, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

I think it would depend on the context of how Hawke could appear in any DA sequel. As a companion? No. Too many variables, namely the mutability of Hawke's character in DA2 meaning that Hawke's personality in DA3 could be wildly different to what the player had by the end of DA2 (I doubt the developers would want to make a character with such a huge amount of personalities without going down a "canon" route, which would cause uproar from the fans). No, it seems that the most likely way Hawke could make an appearance in any sequel is as an offhand comment from a secondary character, much like Bodhan and the Hero of Ferelden. --Madasamadthing (talk) 14:03, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

Honestly, I would love to see both Hawke and the Warden as playable characters, for a time. I honestly don't see how BioWare can implement previous protagonists with pissing players off.

Suppose you played Hawke as a very grim, very serious character, who took to violence very quickly in an situation. Now imagine if Bioware decided to go for a jovial, happy-go-lucky Hawke for the canon character. Would that annoy you? That you played this character for so long, defined their character, how they would act, only for Bioware to go "lol, nope, here's our Hawke." Now, I imagine that some people would go "But it wouldn't be like that, they'd have various options based on your save data". Really? Think about how much work would go into developing 6 Hawke personalities (Angry, Humourous, Sarcastic, and then Male and Female versions), not just the scriptwriters, but the developers, the sound crew, the actors, who would effectively end up doing six lots of work for one character. You do that for a main character, not a companion or such. I say, Hawke as a visible character is done with, let someone else stand in the spotlight now and leave Hawke and the Warden backstage. --Madasamadthing (talk) 18:40, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

I could see Hawke showing up as a temporary companion that follows your group for a particular mission, like Sir Otto in DA:O or Nathaniel in DA2. Not so much the Warden, unless he/she can be referred to by surname, like "Warden-Commander Cousland" or somesuch. Son Goharotto (talk) 15:14, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

I don't care because I'm still going to make my character look like my Warden and Hawke. --87.95.27.195 (talk) 16:13, June 19, 2012 (UTC)Jak Darckner

No Hawke for me. At. All. If there ever was a character that failed to grow on me, it was Hawke. I couldn't even bring myself to play Legacy even though I think I would have liked it, simply because I'd hate to play as Hawke. - For the record, no Warden, either. I love the man but his story is finished and he deserves some peace and rest. --Ygrain (talk) 16:55, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

I'm generally against it. Personally, I see Hawke as too much of a flawed character (that is, a poorly crafted character, not someone with character flaws) and too much connection to the negatives of DA2 for BioWare to bring him back--I mean, they couldn't even bring themselves to do the planned expansion for DA2. From a practical standpoint, I think there's too much variance in how people played Hawke for him--male/female choice alone complicates the matter--to appear as a companion. At most, he might show up as someone you can work for for a while. But I really doubt we'd see that happen. HELO (talk) 18:52, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

I love Origins and I like DA II. So I don't get the hate for DA II??? It's a great sequal. Better than ME 3. --87.95.27.195 (talk) 19:11, June 19, 2012 (UTC)Jak Darckner

Are you asking us if you don't get the hate for DA2? Anyway, no-one here said anything about the quality of DA2, mind you.

I myself am counting on a cameo appearance. After the illusion of choice, I hope they work their arses off with it and actually show us how our choicec affected the Champion. Otherwise, if they're just gonna half-arse it, I'd rather they just not do it at all. Henio0 (talk) 19:41, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

I might be one of the few that would like Hawke to be given a closure with an expansion, giving Dragon Age II a good ending through an expansion. Sadly it's pretty much confirmed that it won't be that way. :( I know I won't like much if they give Hawke a non-playable 'ending' concerning the Mage-Templar War, I did like that guy... As for the thread, I would like a few mentions of Hawke, kinda like the Warden-Commander was mentioned in the second game, I think if they were to place Hawke and the Warden as playable characters they wouldn't do much justice to them. LordRevos (talk) 19:53, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

It's actually definitely confirmed that they aren't doing any more expansions.--Liam Sionnach (talk) 09:26, June 20, 2012 (UTC)
