:I don't always make Alistair king. I marry him to Anora or let her rule alone just as often. Anyway, I think it's best to have Hawke make sacrifice. He even says why himself: 1) Corypheus is his responsibility and more importantly 2) after Clarel's death, a senior warden is needed to lead them. Alistair leading the Wardens is pretty cool but to have Loghain lead them? Sweet, sweet irony. Though I chop Loghain's head off 9 times out of 10 anyway. You don't have to hate Alistair to not make him king, I romanced him the first time (as a human at that) and I made him stay Warden. I also tend to have multiple playthroughs so I never really make a choice only once and that way I can avoid feeling too pressured. But usually if I have to choose, I don't do it just because it's Hawke or just because it's the Warden, they're not supposed to be static characters you either worship or despise. They are always different in every playthrough (especially with the power of minor headcanon at least) and so I may just leave behind who was more of an asshole or who has nothing to lose. But that's me as the player - if I was the Inquisitor and I truly wanted to roleplay... I'd have no freaking clue. I would probably have no idea of either of them. Wouldn't know their personality, only their history maybe... and even then - some of my Inquisitors would choose the destroyer of the fifth Blight, and some would choose Hawke for whatever reason I can't think of right now (which I imagine is kinda funny).

Tl;dr - complex question that needs different approaches, granted you don't despise Hawke for being Hawke and worship the Warden for being the Warden. --[[User:Liaison Shaw|Liaison Shaw]] ([[User talk:Liaison Shaw|talk]]) 08:36, August 21, 2015 (UTC)

I was a little disapointed with the choices we had to face in Dragon Age: Inquisition. Origin was renowned for giving us some really hard choices. As an example in here lies the abyss we had the choice of scarifying some unknown warden we have never meet before or Hawke.

My problem is that if we can include Hawke again, why not the hero of Ferelden, it would have been so much cooler if he or she had been Hawke's contact, now of course there is the possibility that someone have a world state that does not generate Stroud as the contact, but I cannot imagine it would be a problem scarifying Loghain and I dare anyone to say that they did not give Alastir the throne.

I didn't give Alistair the throne; don't hurt meh. My Warden married Anora and got Alistair banished who subsequently became a drunkard. Truly tragic. Choosing between Loghain and Hawke, I ended up sacrificing Loghain, albeit through same hard consideration. From a narrative perspective, I loved how a dude who pretty much obliterated all the Wardens in Ferelden and held a strong distaste towards them, felt ironic and somewhat bittersweet. I really loved how Loghain had changed and actually cared about the order. Between Hawke and The Warden, Hawke is dead, being left behind...easy choice. Lazare326 21:38, August 20, 2015 (UTC)

Personally I can't understand how one can not love Alastair, he is so sweet, and Anora is a bitch, I almost felt bad for condemning Alastir to marrying her, but I knew that alliance was for the best.
But honestly, I never liked Hawke at all, he is a total screwup. Thedas would have been better if he had died.
1) Flemmeth, The warden tried to kill her, failed but at least she tried, while Hawke ensured her survival, she properly would have found another way, but it still made him an accomplish.
2) The idol, if not for Hawke, the deep road expedition would have failed and red lyrium idol would have remained barried.
3) The Arishok would have taken Kirkwall, but I don't think that would have been such a bad thing.
4) Mage rebellion, again it might have happened anyway, but a Qunari precese in the free marches might have made the humans band together rather then fighting.
5) And lets not forget the monster Hawke released that nearly doomed the world.
I honestly cannot find one good thing about Hawke, not that the game itself DA2 didn't suck enough already.-rphb- (talk) 21:54, August 20, 2015 (UTC)
