What's this "sword and board" and "shield and board" business? LOL, it's "sword and shield."

Thanks for noticing it. I think it's now corrected. I was thinking about Sword and Shield and must have writen Shield and Board. Also, I forgot to mention the bad things about DA2, in my first post. I think it's too easy compared to Origins. I never played Origins in other difficulty than Nightmare, and I now DA2 is set to Normal and that we can't change it, but still... I hope Nightmare proves to be a real challenge like in Origins. I still have nightmares about Wolves and Mabaris using Overwhelm.

Probably the reason why it looks so easy, like you have pointed out, is because we can basicaly spam our spells. -- [[User:DeadlySins|DeadlySins]] ([[User talk:DeadlySins|talk]]) 00:21, February 23, 2011 (UTC) DeadlySins

I'm a new member of the Forum, although I've been a regular user ever since I've played Dragon Age Origins. I was really excited about the demo, and still am excited about the full game.

I would like to know everybody's opinion about the demo. What did you liked or disliked about it?

I'll start by saying that in Origins I almost always picked Human Noble Male, Sword and Board specialization. I don't find Rogues interesting in Origins (they're clothes are just terrible) I don't really like caster classes and I felt that Mages got all the goods - Crowd Control, amazing Damage, Heal...

I always loved to be the guy that takes the damage for his fellows, so the tanking specialization really suited me. Also the "Formation" in Origins always places your character in front, which is a bad thing if you're a Mage or a Rogue in certain events.

I've already downloaded the demo and played Warrior - Sword and Board, Mage - Damage Dealer and a Rogue - Dual Wield. I have to say that I absolutely loved the Rogue! So many Crowd Control abilities, some ways to avoid damage incoming, awesome animations... The Mage felt a bit like Origins, wich I wouldn't complain because we all know they were the best class. Although, the fact that we can now melee our enemies in oposite to just "shoot" our staff made me a lot happier. The Warrior seems to be what it should've been, I mean, from what I could see, looks like they take much less damage then in Origins. In one of my playthroughs all my party died except Aveline and she tanked and killed the Ogre and a bunch of mobs just by chugging a health potion.

Also, just by playing a few minutes, we KNOW that we are playing Dragon Age. Even if we don't have Grey Wardens, Archedemons, and whatever, we can cleary see that the game itself has a very familiar design/look when compared to Origins.

Long story short, I think the game is amazing and I feel that finally I can take another class that isn't a Sword and Board character - Rogues look extremely entertaining.

What are your thoughts about it? -- DeadlySins (talk) 00:00, February 23, 2011 (UTC)DeadlySins

I played the demo on xbox. Usually I play on a PS3 and I didn't want to wait anymore for the demo to come out on the PSN. Anyway. I played as a rogue and I must say I am impressed with how they made the rogue badass. The one thing I wasn't really happy about was the button mashing thing. Another thing I did like was with the mage. I like how they can now use the staff as a weapon. Loved that part. Cause now my mage can freaking beat the crap out of someone with a stick.
