I'm not sure if this theory is more likely than other theories I've read, such as that the second dragon is Flemeth or Morrigan, but I think it's something worth considering. I also think that even if it isn't the Andraste dragon, we are likely to hear SOMETHING about that dragon in Inquisition if you spared it in Origins. In my opinion, the area looked like the fade or one of the Dalish/jungle ruin you see in some of the location concept art, so I don't think the origins High Dragon would be our dragon savior in the trailer, and even if it didn't die in origins, the breach/ temple explosion would have killed it or mortally wounded it, or even slayed by someone else entirely (though I doubt anyone except the warden, Hawke, or other legends of Thedas could), the dragon is either just a random dragon defending its territory, Flemeth, Morrigan, that dragon controlling girl in that one movie I never saw, or something else I didn't list.

Also not the tamable dragon, as taming it is at best an option, or at the very least tamed afterwards--[[User:Jcama|Jcama]] ([[User talk:Jcama|talk]]) 08:24, September 6, 2014 (UTC)

I've had a thought regarding the brief flash we see in the Enemy of Thedas trailer where we see one dragon tackle another. The dragon that gets tackled certainly seems to be an enemy and probably some kind of boss; the trailer heavily suggests that this dragon is the 'elder one'. My theory is that the other dragon is the one from Origins, the one claimed to be Andraste by the cultists in the ashes of Andraste quest. This dragon could be fought and killed in Origins but could also be avoided by making a deal with the cultists. Even if you go back on the deal later you can still avoid fighting the dragon.

My theory is that if you left the dragon alive in Origins you get a cool cinematic in Inquisition and the boss fight against the other dragon is either avoided entirely (I doubt it) or much easier as it has been weakened (more likely), while if you killed the dragon you don't get that advantage. Another possibility, if you killed the dragon in origins, is that the dragon that seems to be on our side is an offspring of the Andraste dragon that has matured in the interim. We already know that the game starts at the temple where Andraste's ashes are kept and the fight against the 'elder one' dragon seems to be either at that temple or at some other castle in the Frostback Mountains (Skyhold?), which would mean that the Andraste dragon would be nearby if still alive.

58.173.21.140 (talk) 06:24, September 6, 2014 (UTC)
