Hello everyone! there has been a discussion floating around the internet that has been bothering me for its inaccuracy. everything that i want to talk about can be followed in this link http://dragonaging.tumblr.com/post/90568515838/knight-enchanter-dragonaging-im-sorry-guys ok the discussion is about people saying that even tho Dorian is suppose to be a POC he doesnt have the face for it which is not true at all! John Epler has revealed that Dorian is suppose to be indian. Indian people have the same bone structure as white and arab people, which is Caucasian. And THAT is the reason why he "looks" white, whatever that is suppose to mean, the bone structure is correct and if you don't believe me( which is fine) research it its easy to find :). My biggest problem is when David Gaider here:http://dgaider.tumblr.com/post/90476185344/hello-sorry-for-bothering-you-but-ive-seen-a-lot-of

said he is not suppose too be Caucasian i just want to say that Caucasian is not necessary white. I just wanted to put this information out there. Thank you guys :) Faye_Cousland (talk) 1959, July 02, 2014 (UTC)

Don't people have anything better to do? It's a goddamn fantasy game, it doesn't need to have the real world races. They could all be purple for all I care. You have humans, elves, dwarves and qunari. That's enough for variety. Henio0 (talk) 19:32, July 2, 2014 (UTC)

Agree with Henio0 here, although their may be real life human race influences on the ethnicities of different nations, it shouldn't be a forefront issue in my opinion. Although it'd be highly un-realistic to have all Thedosian humans to be of the same colour and facial structure, biology etc (which it's not), it is a fantasy game and the boundaries shouldn't be restricted in accordance to the features of our own planet and race. If i'm correct, there's no inter-human segregation in accordance to their skin in DA series is there? There may have been some nationalists but other than that i'm not too bothered about Dorian's skin colour etc. But despite my negative image of Gaider, thanks for the link, I do agree with him, and it's nice that they're going for a more exotic colour. That may juxtapose with what I said earlier but I thought he was just a tanned caucasian (similar to some of those of eastern european).Lazare326 19:39, July 2, 2014 (UTC)

Oh, I thought he looked like an Italian guy I know. Thank you for sharing! Danthehumanmage (talk) 23:27, July 2, 2014 (UTC)

Dorian is not white, Caucasian, or a POC. He's a Tevinter. Duh. Silver Warden (talk) 01:56, July 3, 2014 (UTC)

Oh my God, why in 2014 do you still image Italian people with mustache? Turuzzusapatuttu (talk) 10:16, July 3, 2014 (UTC)

Haha because I'm part Italian and a lot of my male relatives have mustaches like that. Plus from the picture it looks like he has Olive skin. I always thought that Tevinter was similar to the Byzantine empire, so I assumed he appeared to be of south-eastern European descent, like Italian or Greek, etc. Dorian is also a name that appears in Greek mythology. I believe that he isn't Caucasian, but from the few pictures I've seen--I just got a SE European vibe. Danthehumanmage (talk) 15:02, July 3, 2014 (UTC)

southern Europeans are Caucasian...im southern European and i am caucasian95.93.167.218 (talk) 17:09, July 3, 2014 (UTC)

Real world races and ethnicity do not apply to Thedas, I don't know why people keep trying to make them. 67.61.238.87 (talk) 21:50, July 3, 2014 (UTC)

i only started talking about this after the devs said that Dorian was a POC which is a real world comparison no? if the devs themselves didnt make the comparison i wouldnt have cared http://31.media.tumblr.com/169119168a3dc463df127cd8da071414/tumblr_n80g6zLk1k1r5f630o1_500.png

http://forum.bioware.com/topic/497214-dorian-discussion-and-speculation-male-inquisitor-romance-confirmed/page-284#entry16835545 these are links to the devs talking about it i just wanted them to make a good comparison if they were going to do it.Faye_Cousland (talk) 0041, July 04 , 2014 (UTC)

I'm with Henio0 and Laz, why do you care so much for this stupid things? CAN SOMEONE ANSWER ME THIS: WHY DO YOU CARE SO MUCH IF HE'S POC, PAC, PIC, GAY STRAIGHT, HAS A CROOKED NOSE OR CHANGING EYE COLOR????? please answer me that 'cus I rather talk about real life than trying to make a FANTASY GAME REAL... guys, GET A LIFE!!!!--Dave The Maniac (talk) 14:38, July 4, 2014 (UTC)

Agree, I think fantasy fans can sometimes compare both fictional and non-fictional worlds too much. Let them just flourish! They're not bound by the same rules as ours!Lazare326 02:05, July 6, 2014 (UTC)

lol calm down i dont care about what he is i care about David Gaider saying something that is wrong the fact that Dorian is involved is just a coincidence for all i care he could be blue but i care if someone in an offical capacity says something that is wrong, maybe it didnt come across like that. Also to me this only started mattering when the devs themselves made the comparisons. Just think of it like this if the devs started saying that the sky is pink in their game because its pink in the real world woudlnt you want to correct that? My problem is not that the sky is pink in the game, my problem is that the creators said its like the real world when it isnt.Faye_Cousland (talk) 18:50, July 4, 2014 (UTC)

The horizon sometimes turns pink when the sun sets or rises. Just saying. Silver Warden (talk) 23:40, July 4, 2014 (UTC)

people are reading waaaaaaaaaaaaay to much in between the lines of the devs... relax and let them be, one dev even said that he was quitting game development because of the fans and I get it stop being such hard asses on them--Dave The Maniac (talk) 18:12, July 4, 2014 (UTC)

you have a point, i tend to be an insufferable know-it-all i just wanted people to know this xP i should really just calm down myself xp. anyway im good :)Faye_Cousland (talk) 21:45, July 4, 2014 (UTC)

I couldn't care less about his skin colour, but the fact that he isn't caucasian -which was my first initial reaction- is something I'm fine with. I think his skin complexion is going to be that of a middle-eastern to east asian colour. Nonetheless, I just can't wait for this game any longer! Dorian is my most anticipated companion Lazare326 00:01, July 5, 2014 (UTC)

faceplam the whole objective of this thread is to say Dorian IS Caucasian. Middle eastern men ARE Caucasian indian men ARE Caucasian. Btw im not angry just creating emphasis. And yes Dorian is one of the companions i look the most forward to! Faye_Cousland (talk) 02:25, July 6, 2014 (UTC)

They are Caucasian by anthropology theory but they are Asian by geographical location so you're right actually. The main thing definition for those guys who don't know: "relating to one of the traditional divisions of humankind, covering a broad group of peoples from Europe, western Asia, and parts of India and North Africa." But a POC: "a person who is not white or of European parentage." So he's def a POC that's for sure, judging by Gaider's comments. Lazare326 02:03, July 6, 2014 (UTC)
fair enough i have a question tho if someone has a Caribbean parent and an European one are they POC?Faye_Cousland (talk) 18:21, July 7, 2014 (UTC)
