... to stop the Blight? Don't get me wrong, the OCD in me makes me recruit them all, but, given the Pride and Prejudices of the various peoples of Fereldan, who would you Really take? Also note, that I love all the characters in their own way, being in the party camp is almost like high school all over again, they've pretty much Nailed every stereotype. I constantly have flashbacks of "the breakfast club" when I'm talking to them. BUT, let's break them down, at least from my point of view, and tell me what you think:
ALISTAIR- I think he only likes cheese so much because it goes with his WHINE. He admits he's a follower, and would rather follow, yet is so often made King. He seems more like the guy you have a couple beers with than the one to take to battle with you.
MORRIGAN- how is taking a known apostate that admits to killing templars into chantry territory a good idea? I won't even get into the Dark Ritual and the OGB stuff.
DOG- well, unless you don't like dogs, there's no reason not to take him.
LELIANA- she has visions, and she babbles ... a LOT. Unless you are pro-chantry, or want to get with her ... why? Who knows she may have been spying for the chantry.
STEN- let's release the really big guy that went crazy and murdered a bunch of innocent farmers and give him a 2 handed sword. He also denigrates our way of life, challenges our authority, and admits that he will be part of the invasion that the Arishok is planning.
WYNNE- an annoying Mom figure that constantly lectures us....ugh. and we only have HER word on the difference between spirits and demons and being possessed by them.
ZEVRAN- let's recruit the guy that just tried to kill us! After all, he SAID he won't try again... that's good enough!
SHALE- I SUPPPOSE an uncontrollable battering ram that calls us "it" is a good idea ... I'm sure he won't go crazy and murder anyone again ...
OGHREN- Drunk + a huge battleaxe is a bad idea. Drunk + a huge battleaxe + berserk is even worse!
LOGHAIN- I killed him every time but once, and that was to get the PS3 trophy. I still feel dirty. I don't care that he's a 'tortured hero' ... he DESERTED me, and the King, at Ostagar.

- Next, Sten. Hardcore Qunari badass? Prove it.
- Then, Zevran. Never trusted him anyway.
- Alistair to watch Zevran.
- Wynne to heal Alistair constantly.
- Leliana shooting arrows.
- Morrigan to walk in front of the Warden (for reasons I won't state but should be obvious).
- The Warden.
- Dog fetching cake. Good Dog.

Shale - The only companion who will slaughter down anyone if asked kindly, and is prety much a scare crow for the "I'm so deadly and dangerous bandit/moron with a death wish.". I'd gladly take her.
Alistar - Don't know about him.....you always need someon who is so stupid that he makes everyone else smarter. Morrigan - Cynical? Check. Usefull? Check. Good looking? Double check. Also in IRL i like cynical persons.
Wynne - I don't like her personaly, generaly i'm not found of the moraly obsest, especialy since she likes tho lecture me about what is wrong and wright. But i gues you always need a healer.
Lelianna - A younger and religiously more of a zealot than Wynne, she might look hot but her constant preaching about wright and wrong and how the maker is good and he loves everyone can get on peoples nerves, she might be good with the locks and shoting people with bow and arrows, but her devotedness got many times in my way of handeling things.
Sten - A big guy with a blade, who would gladly die for you if you prove your selfe to him. His philosophy if completly diffrent than that of the chantry true...but hell if you're a dwarf than yours is also diferent than the Chantrys. He might have killed those farmers, but as i stated to Alister with my warden "We are all killers.". He is strong and reliable, so i'll take him.
Oghren - A dwarf berserker...whats not to like? He might have issues, but hell everyone has got issues so he's no different, and if you take your time and talk to him when he's sober, than you will see that he is not just a drunk, but a guy who hade prety much a bad year or two.
Zevran - I like his open mindedness, only his constant flirting drives me nuts. It's always good to have someone to do more subtley tasks.
Dog - Never realy cared for him, sorry.

Alistair- Other Grey Warden so useful for the task in case I die.
Morrigin- Cynisism is hot.
Leliana- I usually turn off my ears when she spouts chantry BS but other than that... YES
Wynne- Bitches too much
Shale- Portable battering ram the dies faster than Alistair... NO
Sten- 'Cause hes more intimidating than Shale
Zevran- Reminds me of an elven bi Ezio... hell yeah
Oghren- Adorable whaen drunk so yeah
Dog- WHOS A GOOD DOGGY?! YOU ARE! YOU ARE!
