Just out of curiosity, I wanted to know what people thought. Which companion do you always find yourself adding to your party whenever you go into battle and why? I understand that different kinds of Wardens would provoke one to use different kind of companions based upon your skills but excluding that, who do you find yourself always adding to your party now matter who your warden is?--Fantasyeve87 02:33, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Wynne. Her Mana Clash is an insta-kill for enemy mages, who always pose the biggest threat in most encounters. Morrigan would be a close second for her hexes and elemental spells. Finally Leliana, since my class is usually not rogue. Hmm...now that I think about it, I picked all the women. Imagine that. Rath101 (talk) 02:38, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Alistair and Morrigan--good shoulder angel vs. bad shoulder devil Leiliana--lock-picker, conversation approval boosts FreeMarcher930 (talk) 02:43, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

In retrospect, I kind of wish they made Dog a constant companion. He isn't subject to approval rating changes anyway, and it seems only natural your faithful dog would go with you wherever you go (yes, I am fully aware that this might look like Fable 2). Guess that would be overkill. The game is easy enough with only 3 followers. Rath101 (talk) 02:46, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Morrigan. It's almost a crime that she isn't in DA2.--TheGreyestWarden (talk) 02:52, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Morrigan and Shale and/or Oghren. All my favorite characters (Not including Loghain, who I always use at the end) and makes a pretty good party if you're a rogue (Which I usually am).--LloydCousland (talk) 03:31, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Alistair and Wynne. I'm almost always rolling a rogue so I can cover range DPS or up close. Then to fill in the last spot I use Shale (since she can do range or up close)--Mrs.AlistairTheirin (talk) 03:33, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Depends on the Warden I'm using, if its my M!HN warrior, then its Morrigan, Alistair and Leliana. My other Wardens, its usually someone for healing or picking locks (to be honest, I don't roll an Elf that much and I can never finish a Dwarven prologue...)--Madasamadthing (talk) 03:47, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

I always have atleast one of the following, Shale, Dog, or Sten. Along with Wynne, and finnally Leliana. In awakening this changes to Velanna (Spirit Healer/Keeper) and Sigrun(Dualist/Legionaire Scout) is always in party after being recuited. I also keep Anders(Battle mage/Arcane Warrior) except in the Fianle in which he is replaced by Nathaniel(assasin/Shadow). Notice that all 3 finale cahracters Velanna, Sigrun, and Nathaniel all have a special reason to go with me, Sigrun volunteers, Velanna vengenge for her people and redemption for Nathaniel.CrowInvictus (talk) 04:18, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Morrigan first by a hair, then Leliana. Together, especially by mid to end of game, they are absolutely tearing though stuff from a distance. My HN warrior warden (my usual) and whoever else can barely keep up, plus, he thinks they're both pretty hot. I think he's tried for a 3some maybe six, seven times. He never learns... Even if I switch to a mage or a rouge I keep those two almost all the time. It really helps that they're both introduced early in game as well. The more control I have to build them, the more I use them. The Grey Unknown (talk) 04:41, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Alistair. I just love his "witty one liners". But at the end game I always have Alistair, Zevran, and Sten. Just because what they say when you bring them with you at then end has more meaning to me then anyone else does. As far as Awakening goes I have Oghren, Anders, and Nathanial. I love thier banter with each other. Espically when Anders tries to explain to Oghren why mages wear robes. Emmalee (talk) 04:55, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Alistair. I almost always play a DW Rogue, and Alistair makes a good tank. Plus, if Origins was a movie, Alistair would be the co-star. I also always take Wynne, at least at the start, for healing. Lately I have been building Morrigan as a healer, and she replaces Wynne when she gets the Spirit Healer specialization. The final slot I use a companion I either having used in a while, or who I know has a special interaction in the area I'm going to next: Shale in Orzammar, Sten in Haven (when he challenges you), Dog in Denerrim (when he brings you the boy). Gruedragon (talk) 13:41, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Morrigan. She always alive even when all my companions and my main character is dead and she saves all.93.94.223.155 (talk) 17:57, February 1, 2011 (UTC)

My party always consisted of Alistair, Wynne and Morrigan. I'd let my Rogue be DPS, Al tanked and you can guess what mages were doing. If I did not take Al, I took Sten. Al in my opnion was a better tank. During the final battle, Alistair was like a meat shield. I don't think he fell once.RhiannonCousland (talk) 16:31, February 1, 2011 (UTC)

Ditto. My rogue archer + alistair as tank + Wynne as spell defense + Morrigan as spell offense. Plus I like to hear arguments between Morrigan and Alistair. Fritzywiggins (talk) 19:53, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

Sten, Alistair and Zevran is my dream team. Two warriors, a rogue and a mage(me). That's all i need.--213.64.251.102 (talk) 16:41, February 1, 2011 (UTC)

Alistair is pretty much my constant companion as a Warrior HN. I try my best to rotate through the entire squad so that everyone gets a go (as I also do in Mass Effect - seems odd to have them cluttering up the place doing nothing!), but Alistair is nearly always there. Morrigan, Zevran, Leliana and Wynne are also firm favourities. I'll also occasionally use Oghren. As for Awakening, I nearly always have Oghren with me.--ElDutchio (talk) 16:49, February 1, 2011 (UTC)

I usually have a Shield & Sword warrior, a two-hand warrior, a mage and an archer rouge. So with me as a two-hand warrior, my party usually consists of Alistair, Morrigan & Leliana, but Dog, Shale, Oghren and Wynne all have their places depending on what quests i'm doing. I very rarely use Sten and Zevran, i feel like the others have way more character. I don't know how i'd survive without Alistairs witty comments, when i'm forced to have certain companions in my party i'll sacrifice another slot just to have that funny little Templar tag along and make me chuckle. In Awakenings, Oghren is a permanent member of my party, Anders is second and either Sigrun/Nathaniel takes the last slot, depending on whether i require short *no pun intended* or long range backup. Tyr Aeducan (talk) 13:09, February 2, 2011 (UTC)

Wynne is the one I cannot live without in my battle party. I need her about as my team healer, I see her as a cleric of sorts I suppose. I generally travel with one mage (Wynne) one warrior (Alistair) and two rogues (My Cousland woman and Zevran). Anders was the companion I could not live without in Awakening, due to being a spirit healer. I was also incredibly fond of Nathaniel Howe (my Cousland knows compassion, mercy, and forgiveness). PurpleNurplex0x (talk) 21:06, February 13, 2011 (UTC)

Morrigan cuz she was my romance, Oghren cuz he was my bff and leliana cuz i need a rogue and she was my other romance, this was my first playthrough, i pretty much did the same thing all throughout tho

Alistair, Wynne and Leliana. Alistair tanks, Wynne heals, Leliana lockpicks and picks off stragglers. Works well with any class.Ryukoshu (talk) 04:49, February 14, 2011 (UTC)

Wynne, shes a bloody good healer. Even as a mage I still bring her along. --Sencilia (talk) 10:37, February 14, 2011 (UTC)

Morrigan: Since I couldn't romance her, might as well keep her as close to me as possible. In the end we were like the best sisters ever! ^..^ Having myself as an AW/BM and her as a SS/SH, we made sure the darkspawn knew who was in charge. Warden Satori (talk) 00:28, February 15, 2011 (UTC)

I was always rolling Leliana as I didn't do much with rogue. Morrigan or Wynne would be there to do the mage thing and a warrior, usually Alistar especially if you harden him. He gets a lot more fun with the banter it seems.

I think the most fun in the game is being a cc/aoe mage, so I always have Leliana as the only rogue, doing a little of everything. I also always have Wynn, who heals and crowd controls, which is essential because I only keep one tank - either Alistair in full swords and boards mode or Morrigan as an AW. (EM)

My party always consists of Alistair,Wynne and Zevran/Oghren.Found no use for Leliana save picking locks.--Lesk Amell (talk) 17:21, February 15, 2011 (UTC)

I should have noted above - AW Morrigan is killer midgame because she's so tough to hit but lategame I prefer Alistair as his templar abilities help out a lot with the suddenly numerous enemy mages. (EM)

Although I only kinda liked him, Alistair is my top choice because when I didn't put him in, the big battles were much harder. Morrrigan and Leliana tie at a close second. Yash7 (talk) 23:53, February 15, 2011 (UTC)

Sten is my favorite. I don't always have him in my group ('cause I try to keep it balanced) but with the feastday dlc he can revive party members, he can get to heavy armor quicker due to his approval bonuses, and I love his outlook and the funny conversations. If you build him right he can be an awesome tank (kind to have to invest in dex). I also like Dog and Shale.--- - darb86 20:00, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

Alistair and Morrigan - my HN's brother and woman :-) Sten was the fourth, until I recruited Wynne. I sent Leliana to open the locks only after the area was secured :-) Ygrain (talk) 20:48, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

I always had Alistair, since he was my romance and my main tank, then I had Wynne, because of her amazing spells and the funny convos she has with Alistair, and then I have Leliana, simply for archery uses since my Warden was a duel weapons rouge.--Akero-chan

I always take Ali and Zev and i switch it up for the last companion.I always romance them as a female Warden and they are just my two favourite people in gaming history =)

In my human noble origin (main/most used) I usually go with Morrigan as the love interest, Alistair/Sten as the best friend, and Leliana as the lock picker. I try to rotate every now and then, but Morrigan almost never leaves my character's side. The Eternal (talk) 00:04, February 18, 2011 (UTC)

In Origins I tend to take Alistair with me most of the time. And in Awakening, Sigrun! I love her, she is such a nice person, can't go without her. Too bad she isn't in Origins. :S --Spellsword (talk) 11:57, February 18, 2011 (UTC)

Early game, Dog, Late game, Alistair, although, I am working with Sten and Oghren on this playthrough because I'm trying to wrap my head around the Warrior skills. For some reason, I'm more the Mage. Snackinzack (talk) 12:45, February 18, 2011 (UTC)

Morrigan she's a great mage, funny and I was in a relationship with her. Knight Captain Kerr (talk) 17:49, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

Alistair cause it seems wrong not to take the only other Grey Warden with you where ever you go. But I like taking Shale as much as I can. --Biosoul (talk) 19:58, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

It would have to be Morrigan for me too. I'm just too much of a Morrigan fanboy. As for my main party, as a Human male noble warrior it was always Alistair, Morrigan and Leliana. A nice balance and it served me quite well. (DDragonfly1990 (talk) 20:01, February 21, 2011 (UTC))

Zevran and Oghren. Zev is just too irresistible (he is usually my lover; I always keep my lover with me) and I love his banter with the other characters. Oghren because he's always good for a laugh and his party banter is great too. I like to be entertained by my companions, and not be judged too harshly by them (like Morrigan... I'm never a mean character, so I never use her). XIII Lightning (talk) 20:17, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

I think somsone has a bit of an obsession with elves ;) (DDragonfly1990 (talk) 20:31, February 21, 2011 (UTC))
Hmmm? Oh! You mean Fenris too? Well, what can I say? LOL. I predict Fenris will be the companion I can't live without starting March 8th. I think it's also in part to great voice acting. Zev was really well done. XIII Lightning (talk) 20:34, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

Zevran! Always. He and my badass male rogue make a heck of a team. He's brave to the point of sometimes being annoying (gotta keep track of him in battle) and he'll watch your back while Alistair wanders off to to warrior things. And for some reason, quite a few times he's the one who finally gets the high dragon after everyon else has fallen. Usually fill the team with Morrigan and Alistair for a whiz & tank. Oghren is next choice, replacing Alistair on occasion, then dog. Wynne annoys me (sometimes I just kill her off in the circle, although it's nice to have her quest for the extra experience). Sten just isn't that useful, and I really really can't stand Leliana. And yes, some of these are emotional choices, but I play nightmare and make it through, so it is a viable team. --TropicalFool (talk) 20:39, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

Alistair, Morrigan and Lelianna. These three, along with my Warden make the perfect story...in my opinion. Not only do I believe that they all fit together for the story…in terms of age and backgrounds…but they’re the perfect companions for the unfolding story. How can you not keep Alistair in your group? He’s basically been there from the beginning with you. He’s a fellow Grey Warden and is supposed to be basically your best friend. Morrigan…not much to say here…she’s awesome and a huge part of the story. Lelianna…kick ass “chantry” sister…enough said. Also, great romance option. These three are great to keep around for their banter and…at least for my story…they make perfect sense. Alistair and Morrigan have their hate/love relationship throughout the whole story…making my choice ending perfect for the story…and Lelianna serves as my Wardens romance. They also fit perfectly with my playstyle. My Warden is a dual wielding DPS while Alistair plays tank, Morrigan is the healer/mage killer with Lelianna being the ranged archer.

So far, I've been playing my Warden = DPS Warrior, Alistar = Tank, Lelianna = Ranged DPS, and Morrigan = Healer/Range DPS. Every now and then I put Wynne in there are a healer.CWHellsmight (talk) 18:17, March 27, 2011 (UTC)
