For some time I've been checking the entries in game and comparing them to the versions on the wiki and I've run across a problem - there are sometimes small differences between the codex entries in the games. Nothing big enough to warrant a page split, the changes vary from changing '30' to 'thirty', Qunari being consistently written with small q in Origins, changing periods to commas, to completely rewriting a few sentences. I'm not sure if I should note the changes, and if so in what way. What is the consensus on this? Kirzana (talk) 15:25, February 25, 2016 (UTCI

The word qunari really has two meanings: qunari for the race and Qunari for the religion. I've always assumed that the religion is capitalized but the race isn't. You don't capitalize dwarf, elf, or human, right? As for everything else, perhaps the most recent entries should take precedent. Silver Warden (talk) 21:04, February 25, 2016 (UTC)

That's kind of a moot point when we're dealing with word-for-word entries from the game. Whether they're capitalizing "correctly" or not isn't something we can control--it's our responsibility to record the information as written, and not correct any mistakes. As for how to deal with them, here's a suggestion I made that could solve the problems for the bigger differences. As for the smaller ones, I agree with Silver Warden to go with the most recent entries and then a "notes" section describing that in "X" game, this and this and this are different for any medium-size changes, such as a sentence being reworded slightly differently. I don't think we need to point out that periods were changed to commas, or 30 changed to thirty. --Kelcat Talk 21:47, February 25, 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for the replies, I'll stick to the most recent entries and add notes as needed. And I should have clarified that yes, with qunari I only meant the cases where they haven't been capitalized in Origins but were in a rewrite of the same entry in later games, nothing about wrong grammar. I've also replied on the Giant Spider talk page because that case is a bit more complicated. Kirzana (talk) 23:35, February 25, 2016 (UTC)
Yep, I got what you meant. I was replying to Silver Warden' comments regarding the meaning of the words. I think you're on the right track! --Kelcat Talk 00:09, February 26, 2016 (UTC)
