What order does one play the add-ons and campaigns for the first game in order to play it in chronological order?

What I got so far is:

Leliana's song > DA Origins >Awakening > Golems of Amgarrak> Witch hunt

How accurate is this and where would Warden’s Keep, The Stone Prisoner, Return to Ostagar, and The Darkspawn Chronicles fit in chronologically?

First of all, Leliana's Song and Darkspawn Chronicles aren't canon. For one, the first one happens in Ferelden, whereas Leliana told The Warden that it happened in Orlais; others facts didn't much as well. I think it is only one version of the same story, it didn't necessarilly happen this way. Now, that it's out of the way...

Chronologically it goes Leliana's Song -> DA:O, with Warden's Keep, The Stone Prisoner and Return to Ostagar all hapening before The Climax -> Darkspawn Chronicles happen at the time of Climax in another universe where there was no Warden -> DA:O Awakening -> Golems of Amgarrak -> Witch Hunt

However, the Golems and Awakening can be done in the reverse order, but then in the vanilla game the level cap will remain at its base, therefore making the final boss fight incredibly hard. Henio0 (talk) 18:58, January 31, 2013 (UTC)

You say Leliana's Song isn't canon, but Leliana has imagination, she could change some events and things, when she told the Warden her story. Also wrong location can be a mistake of development like in ME2 Legion said Souverign spoke with Shepard on Ilos, when it happened on Virmire. Nobody said developers are perfect.78.8.1.181 (talk) 19:59, January 31, 2013 (UTC)

Since you can import a character from Awakening to Golems but not the other way around, playing Golems first would get you a much weaker character to beat the harvester with. As for Leliana, it wasn't a mistake but very likely a conscious decision by the developers: they needed a quick buck DLC without the need to spend time and resources designing an Orlesian setting. Hence they reused the Denerim settings.

I agree that Leliana's Song and its discrepancy with the story she told the warden wasn't a mistake but done for the convenience of the DLC developers. Another factor was to save Orlais locations for another use (DA3 most likly). It isn't like some details have been altered between the two, it is a completely differnet story. She has no reason to make up a lie to tell the warden, and even if she did why would she tell that one? The origins tale makes her look worse. There are also some problems with when Leliana's Song actually happened. In that during it, one of the character (the captain?) mentions that Maric is still king, which would be 5 years before the beginning of DAO. However Leliana says that she was in the cloister for a little over two years. So who knows. --Lady Kathlyn (talk) 14:01, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

I always assumed the Leliana's Song DLC was just that: a "bard's song" version of her story. Y'know, some broadstroke rendition of what actually happened to Leliana that she might perform in a tavern where no one would ever think there was an ounce of truth to anything she said. the events Leliana's Song didnt happen in Orlais. They happened in Denerim, so that's why they used the Denerim settings. Anyway, this is the first DLC and well, it proves that the story she told the Warden was partially a lie. She lied about the fact that this happened in Orlais, when in fact it happened in Ferelden. Anyway, the next DLCS The Stone Prisoner, Return To Ostagar and The Warden's Keep are all mission DLCs in Origins so they can be done in any order. I however, do The Warden's Keep first because Sophia Dryden's Warden Commander looks SWEET! Then I do The Stone Prisoner (although not necessarily immediately following completion of the Warden's Keep) and finally I save Return To Ostagar until just before the Landsmeet because its a moment of closure where you can say goodbye to the fallen, recover Cailan's armour and give the King a proper burial. It marks a turning point where you can actually start dealing with Loghain properly and then the Blight. Then the Post-game DLCs are The Golems of Amgarrak and then finally Witch Hunt. --JordanHawker (talk) 10:51, February 2, 2013 (UTC) JordanHawker
