A couple of months ago, BioWare created a new forum called BioWare Forum (original name, huh) to replace the BioWare Social Network forums. The BSN forums were up for awhile, with a note redirecting to the new forum. Unfortunately, within the last week or so, they seem to have shut down the BSN forum completely. The Social Network still exists, but the forum part seems to have vanished.

Which means that many of the links we have on the wiki are now completely broken. Some do redirect to the corresponding thread on the new forum (forum.bioware.com), but a lot of the links just redirect to the main forum page. Broken links means that we now have a lot of information on the wiki that isn’t properly sourced, which is obviously bad.

The ones that redirect to the new threads are easy to fix, but the ones that are completely broken are trickier. The only means I’ve found is to do a google search of the topic title and found the thread that way, but that only works if the topic title was used in the reference note on the wiki. All of the threads I’ve looked for I've been able to eventually find on the new forum, so it looks like they do exist there, but for some reason they don’t all have redirects.

This was brought up a couple of months ago, but I think it’s now become a critical issue. I thought for sure that they’d leave the BSN forum up for several months and do redirects for all the threads, but I was wrong.

This is going to be a good-sized project that I think should be dealt with soon, so having a few people willing to help out would be really great.

Also, does anyone know if there’s a way to do a query or search to find all the articles that have BSN links on them? Otherwise I have no idea how we’re going to find them all. --Kelcat (talk) 00:50, May 21, 2014 (UTC)
