Implementation Waiting

You must have missed Tierrie's, this is on hold note "Still working on this - I'd like to get the icons for the companions before moving further." Tierrie has put this on hold and hasn't taken it off yet. And has already stopped a user from trying to implement anymore of the changes until a few things have been dealt with. I even noticed, that he has asked the other admins to get involved because something isn't sitting right about it, apparently. So I think, that thought originally thought this was done and approved, it isn't at the moment. I think he even referred this as still a concept stage (User_talk:Loleil#Approval). So if and when all the admins get in here and make some decisions, I'd leave this be, thats what I am doing at least, unless I see the admins active on this I wouldn't get worried about pressing this on yet.  Hollowness | Talk | Contr 03:35, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

Ya this forum post is almost impossible to read and understand some many conversations and parallel conversation (unless you were present for most of it) and they were answered mostly within close time of each other, unlike more threads that don't. I renamed some heading ans moved some headings around to appropriate areas to hopefully allow easier follow through. If anyone think that can improve further go for it maybe less sandbox previews (just the merging and examples) and link only (I did change that) but leave each editors original concepts for reference.  Hollowness | Talk | Contr 04:35, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

OMG Tierrie you should reconsider and just use my templates, I have my templates only on my user pages and a few talk pages and the wiki forums but no actual articles and yet look here some unregistered user used them they were so easy LOL. The same article compared. We're all agreed that the portraits need to be improved, including me. Why go backwards just because of a single optional flag? Everything else in the {{Approval}} template is solid. I do need to improve the documentation, but until things are settled I've been holding off. Jmjimmy 18:28, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

I am just saying, Tierrie has called upon the other admins (User_talk:Loleil#Approval), it doesn't sound like it is just the portraits. Just remember when we first thought Tierrie gave approval I did some test updates and the usage changed, I'd just hate to have something happen and we redo anything, (I have been waiting for the official update to do my updates but this sounds on the fence and I don't want to invest till I see the policy guide or something). So lets get a high resolution shot of all the companions in the character selection screen (or individual shots, whichever) and we can get this moving forward. I'm not able, as previously stated since I don't have the PC version. If the styles need to be improved that's no problem, that's why it's templated. {{Approves}} and {{Disapproves}} are not a solution, they are setup more as shorthand than templates. If you are really concerned ask Tierrie directly, I am being cautious and hope it not being look on as a negative thing. I noticed shortly after your examples of the Golem of Honnleath, Tierrie not only posted a 'Still working on this' then shortly after posted to the other 2 admins in a very I am not sure about this and referred it as a 'concept'. Technically we were given green lights on concepts and not really implementation. I personally just rather not hound on this since has been so extensive so far, I rather wait on him. And I have projects that are keeping me busy so I am not in a rush for anything these days. But really you can talk to Tierrie, on whats going on. And I never said those were (originally I made them for myself then added them to the approval template then removed them), those are mine for personal use (I used them once when the approval template rejected an old usage till you fixed it for me it is used for no other main articles), I thought it was funny how some random person used them in an article (I thought it was just funny and mention it, I guess I'll leave my comments to Tierrie's talk page next time, if it is going to get miss interpreted here). Besides my preference was the first approval concept before portraits and and font issues but the project has changes from then, and that, I can still have my opinion.  Hollowness | Talk | Contr 19:13, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

I'm saying lets get new screenshots to work with so we can try to improve the portraits since everyone agrees they aren't quite right. This has been the major hangup - there will probably be some more improvements on the in-line in the future but I'm of the same opinion as Zoev (who has commented to both of us) that it's best to just get them in *a* template and worry about the finer points later. I like concept of Jmjimmy's templates and have taken some screenshots that might work. I have two concerns, one is that I feel that the styles are somewhat inconsistent. I can't pin exactly what I dislike about it down - which is why I've been dragging my feet. The other is that the icon style looks out of place. In this situation I can't really place what I don't like about it either - except its a little jarring.

So, intellectually, I am absolutely in love with the syntax, but the style's bothering me a bit. Since I was the one who suggested the style, I have no one to blame but myself. Fortunately, style can always be changed, I say lets go ahead with it, and we can change it later.

It was a joke, how often do I use OMG in all caps at that (I am not 16 anymore (and even then I used it to make fun of the airheads) I use it occasionally for purposes of humor), but you know forget it, you are just so upset with me that I am against your template. And if you truly want to know the template I want I have it on my User:Hollowness/Template (oh, but you don't but it proves my point approves and disapproves isn't the template I have in mind) and you will see it is one template bases not 2. So really, stop you are going against the wiki code of conduct. This is the second time too, do you just dislike me then don't converse, I thought I was providing useful information and a light joke (srsly, did you even see the user they use Template:Approves in full I never use that so they searched for it and used it all on their own). Obviously conversations between us on this subject are pointless, so just stop you only make me fell bad for saying anything.  Hollowness | Talk | Contr 19:51, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

That's the thing, none of the styles that are implemented are my own, they're what everyone else suggested with the exception of the font choice for numbers for reasons already explained. I'm interested in constructive criticism, working together to improve the template. I'm sorry I've taken issue with the stance you've taken but when you gave constructive criticism I implemented it, when you've been passive aggressive, negative, or worse, yes I've called you out for it. If it was a comment or two I wouldn't have said anything but it's been repeated and consistent. If I'm in violation of the code of conduct I would request an admin let me know how I can better deal with this situation and any consequences for my offences.
