Let the war begin! It seems Anders gets alot of hate, but why is it that some love him and others hate him, is it because his character changed from DAA to DA2 or maybe it has to do with Justice in his head.

People probably hate him due to how much he changed from DAA to DA2. Even if it contradicts player-cannon. Me, I dont care either way.Avg Man (talk) 04:07, June 20, 2012 (UTC)

I have a sneaking suspicion a large part of emotions towards Anders is unfortunately Alistair related. That is, people who loved Alistair most likely loved his poor man's version aka Anders of DAA. People who didn't, well, they might dislike the 2 all the same, but for better reasons than "Oh noez they changed mah Ali-boo numbah too!" Me? He's DA2's real protagonist (remember that marketing line, "play as the most important person in Thedas? Turns out Bioware was right, after all - Anders was controllable party member) , and I like history shaping people, especially ones with 'fuck the establishment' attitude. Plus, voice actor. I personally disliked Anders from DA2 (I don't have any particular opinions about Anders from DAA, as he kind of sat around in The Vigil for the entire duration). His constant whining REALLY got on my nerves in the end, as well as his brilliantly thought-out plan of "people don't trust the mages because we can blow things up with our minds, so let's blow things up". Not to mention the "I didn't want to involve you... I just wanted you to help me make the bombs". I wouldn't have cared if Anders blew up an entire battalion of mages or templars, but I can't think of any justifiable reason for the dead people in the Chantry (and possibly half of Hightown). If he wanted to do that much for the mages, why not go after the Qunari? Or go on a personal mission to kill Meredith? To me, all he does is run away and whine.

I might have agreed that Anders' actions are justifiable if the mages did agree to break away from the Chantry in Cumberland, but they didn't. Which tells me that for whatever reason, the majority of them preferred the status quo. All Anders has done is alienate the people from the mages even more and possibly create more casualties. And for my Hawke, who was just trying to keep Kirkwall from falling apart, all Anders did was undo the work. - 08:56, June 20, 2012 (UTC)

Oh God, there are AT LEAST 37 threads about the goddamn Anders on this wiki already, one of which has the same title sans the question mark. While a certain proof of him being the real "most important person in Thedas", enough IS enough. I really would like to propose introducing a filter that would auto-block any new threads with Anders in its title. 4Ferelden (talk) 10:01, June 21, 2012 (UTC)
