Leliana talked about a rose she saw after her vision in the Lothering Chantry Garden, if romanced Alistair gives you a rose he picked in Lothering, is it possible this is the same rose? GarettTheBoy (talk) 20:45, January 31, 2013 (UTC)

It's never confirmed but it is implied. I think that the developers intended it to be the same rose.

I've wondered this myself. She did say it was in a garden, and most gardens that have roses often have more than one rosebush. Unless it was out of season for roses, then it probably was.--BlueChaosFaerie (talk) 22:27, January 31, 2013 (UTC)BlueChaosFaerie

There is a rather delicious irony there. The rose in the garden is something delicate, struggling to grow, in a sense, representing Ferelden after the Blight. Then along comes Alistair and picks it, to preserve it, but in doing so, it will never grow and slowly decay. Which, in a way, represents Calanhad's lineage. Yes, its preserved, but it will never grow now. --Madasamadthing (talk) 04:07, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

I would think so, if there were many roses in the garden, the existence or presense of that single rose wouldn't have been seen as such a big deal by either of them. And if it is the Maker's rose, so to speak, would explain why it is still fresh when Alistair gives it to you, even months later.

Madasamadthing - interesting symbolism there. In a way the blight destroys the lineage of Calanhad, both by killing Cailan and through the taint in Alistair. While Alistair, as you say, can extend it, he can no longer prepetuate it. So the blight does destroy Calenhad's version of Ferelden. --Lady Kathlyn (talk) 13:53, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

*Cough* Dark Ritual. *Cough* Believe it! (talk) 09:01, February 2, 2013 (UTC)
A reincarnated old god of beauty as a progeny of Calhenad, that's complex like hell. Morrigan with old god and Calhenad's blood is 2 steps after Yavana and she even doesn't know this.62.87.248.145 (talk) 18:59, February 3, 2013 (UTC)
