Made it through my first complete play through of Origins with my male human 2Handed warrior. I played on normal mode.

I ended it with having killed Logaine and I slept with Morrigan to produce a child for her. I wanted my Warden and Alistar to both live this time even though I did not talk Alistar into taking the throne.

I chose to stay with the queen in her court and kept Lelianna as my love.

About to DL Awakenings and a few of the pre-awakening DLC to top it all off before I begin again.

My next play through will be on hard and will be a female human rogue. Prob going to go melee again because I want to save my archer play through for a female dalish elf. This time I have to not kill Zev because I failed to learn assassin. Prob do a male human mage after that as a healer before I move on to DA2.

Origins is a great game! Time well waisted!CWHellsmight (talk) 12:41, April 4, 2011 (UTC)

I'd recommend "Warden's Keep" for the nifty new abilities; your Rogue will be able to run, while Stealthed. I'd marginally recommend "The Stone Prisoner" for the new companion, who can make your archer more enjoyable. The rest... not so much. The fan-made extra content for the vanilla game is vastly superior to the DLC.Futonrevoltion (talk) 15:48, April 4, 2011 (UTC)Futonrevoltion

Thanks for the advice. As a recovering Ex-WoW player, I'm alittle behind in the times concerning this series. I'm glad some one decided to creat this site. Helped me out alot.CWHellsmight (talk) 16:31, April 4, 2011 (UTC)

I'm trying to think, off-hand, which mods (dragonagenexus & social.bioware) are considered essential.

JBTextures is absolutely required for me! I'm not sure why, but there's one that adds your very own personal tent to the campsite that I can't do without anymore. Inverness Keep gives you someplace to put those rugs and paintings to good use and some adorable/aggravating NPCs. Auto-Loot, Lock Bash, White Teeth, Realistic Female Bodies, and a fantastic one that lets Ser Rory live! It's got over 1,000 fully-voiced lines.

There are ones to skip Ostagar and/or the Fade; I seem to be the only one who enjoys multiple playthroughs of the Fade. The Morrigan/Zevran Restoration Patches unlock some really cool conversations... romancing Morrigan & Leliana in the same playthrough gets deliciously nasty! Lots of people love Increased Atmosphere, which is customizable. Having light armor requirements switched from Strength to Dexterity.

If you end up sinking 120+ hours in the game (like me), RAVage makes the enemy mobs unpredictable and independent campaigns like The Carrion Birds make everything fresh again.Futonrevoltion (talk) 17:33, April 4, 2011 (UTC)Futonrevoltion

Even without the voice acting a lot of user-made mods rate much higher in quality. But Shale is a must-have, and would've been in the original release if it weren't cut for time. Despite complaints about "Return to Ostagar" it does add a sense of closure in a justified revisit of the tragic battle, plus includes some excellent gear. Leliana's Song is a rip-off, and Witch Hunt is only slightly better. DokEnkephalin (talk) 17:35, April 4, 2011 (UTC)

The revisionist history filling-of-plotholes-that-didn't-exist in "Return to Ostagar" rubbed me the wrong way.Futonrevoltion (talk) 17:40, April 4, 2011 (UTC)Futonrevoltion
Plotholes like how the darkspawn had breeched the tower, and Cailan's correspondence with the Orlais emperor? Imo it's worth it for the commentary from Alistair, Wynne, and even Loghain. If you don't have at least two of them in your party, you're wasting the experience. DokEnkephalin (talk) 17:49, April 4, 2011 (UTC)
The hole dug into the Tower of Ishal wasn't a plothole. Even Alistair figured it out & explains it when you pick up the temporary party members. What "Return from Ostagar" chose instead to talk about was how somehow Cailan 'knew' the battle was lost beforehand and had political & marital (as opposed to martial) reasons for inviting the Orlesians Wardens that Anora & Loghain were completely unaware of. So, basically, Cailan was planning the military campaign while fooling the entire army and government into thinking Loghain was in charge of that, while also running a shadow government using Anora's leadership as a blind front, which itself was operating behind the scenes of Cailan's public front. If your in the mood for a challenging boss fight i highly recommend the golems of agmarak DLC. Seriously this DLC was wayyy harder than the Archdemon fight. When you do kill the harvester it is very satisfyiny. The only other 2 DLC i recommend are Wardens Keep and awakening of course enjoy your 2nd playthrough!Srcmdy (talk) 22:35, April 4, 2011 (UTC)
