First of all I've never posted here so apologies if I do something wrong.

That said, WHAT THE ACTUAL @$%&?! You can probably guess that I'm referring to the ending of DA:I. I just finished the game for the first time only a few hours ago, and I still can't believe what I just went through. To be clear, I found DA:I's ending to be utterly unsatisfying, so much so that I cannot understand why the writers made it the way they did. I was enjoying the game immensely right up until the final story mission, "Doom Upon All the World." I clicked on the War Table Operation thing and got... a boss battle. And that's it. No build up, no epic cinematics (the ones DURING the boss battle don't count), no final 'are you ready?' talks with my companions, no final romance scene before we leap into the abyss, no big climatic choice at the end of the game, literally a loading screen, Coryphyshit says some words, and then boss battle. The entire final quest was ONE ENCOUNTER. I don't even know how my Inquisitor found Corypheus. Hell, I don't even know where my Inquisitor found Corypheus. Some of my soldiers were there, but I don't know why/how any of them were there either. What kind of an ending is that?

When the battle with Corypheus began, I first thought I had encountered some horrible glitch that made me skip the entire final quest. Then I thought, well, maybe this is some kind of weird dream scenario and none of this is real and I'll wake up to find myself still in the Fade from "The Final Piece," or something, and then the real quest will begin, but no dream, and I looked up the quest on this wiki and apparently no glitch either.

But the most bizarre part, the part that makes me feel like I'm in some kind of dream, is that I've seen and heard no manner of fan backlash over this hyper-rushed ending. Even after specifically searching for critiques on DA:I's ending, all I got was one - ONE - review criticizing the games's ending, and that review said,

"I was exaggerating when I said this was a worse ending than Mass Effect 3. It clearly isn’t... It’s not even really a bad ending, it’s just so…underwhelming."

How can you say that this... nothing is better than ME3's ending, as admittedly unsatisfying as that ending was as well? ME3 had epic cinematics building up excitement. ME3 had awesome final talks with great characters. ME3 had a heart-wrenching final scene with Tal- a variety of engaging love interests. ME3 had a big final choice... sort of... a little bit... okay, but still more than this. Why isn't there an outcry for an extended cut for DA:I? Why is there no reaction to this utter disappointment to an otherwise (mostly) stellar game?

What is going on?

Also, am I doing this signature thing right?

I liked it, thought it was a pretty epic fight scene. --Elshiro (talk) 13:28, January 9, 2015 (UTC)
I also missed something at the end. Some kind of... answers... Okay, Solas'Harel awoke form his slumber and was too weak to use his orb. But why did he give it to Cory? A crazed ancient blighted tevintered magistered something? And why did he kill Flemythal / Flemythemiel? What exactly are they (and the rest of the elven gods) at all? And didn't we just give Cory what he wanted during the whole game as we threw him into the fade in person? And what is the Blight? What are the Crossroads? And and and... I know they need to save something for DA4, in order to make more money with us all, but at least you could give us some answers instead of even more questions.
