Fire on the Sands is a companion quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Acquisition[]
This quest is acquired after talking to Taash for the first time in the Lighthouse's Library while they have the New Quest icon displayed.
Walkthrough[]
Taash is taking some time on the beach to blow off steam, figuratively and literally. This quiet moment offers a chance to get to know her better.
Feed the birds[]
Walk with Taash, talking about life and feeding three groups of birds. The birds will startle and fly away if approached too aggressively and might result in disapproval from Taash rather than approval.
There's an Evanuris altar under the bridge and around the corner that can be activated now or later as this area will be explorable.
Learn about Taash's fire-breathing[]
Follow Taash down a little ledge is an Antaam symbol that inspires anger. Use Taash's fire-breathing ability to burn it down before continuing on, learning more about qunari fire-breathers and Shathann. Destroy another Antaam structure with Taash's ability to continue the walk.
Help Taash deliver food[]
After walking through a door and jumping down some ledges a cutscene triggers where Taash and Rook deliver some food to Karash, a qunari navigator who got dragged into the Antaam rebellion against his will. After walking further the two run into Shathann where Rook accidentally implies that they and Taash sleep together, prompting their mother to make comments about her child's sexuality and identity. Their tense but still caring conversation punctuates the quest.
Rewards[]
Completing the quest yields:
- +500 XP
- Strong Arm - Rare Medium Armor (Taash)
- Taash's bond increase
Results[]
Taash plans to head back to Rivain between quests and would welcome company.
Taash spends some quiet time on the beach and opens up a bit about herself.
Taash spent time on the Rivaini coast feeding the birds and practicing her fire breathing. An encounter with her mother Shathann showed that they do not always get along, but have each other's best interests at heart.
Taash has no more time to spend on the beach with the bigger threats ahead of the team.
Approval[]
- Feeding the birds along the way - Taash approves
- Scaring the birds along the way - Taash disapproves
