Tavin is the First to Keeper Hawen, leader of a Dalish clan encamped on the Exalted Plains.
Background[]
Tavin defied his Keeper to travel to the Emerald Graves to investigate Din'an Hanin, an ancient elven tomb. The tomb served as a memorial dedicated to Elandrin,[1][2] a Dalish elf and one of the fallen Emerald Knights.
Involvement[]
Tavin encounters the Inquisitor while they are investigating Freemen, Venatori and Red Templar activity in the Graves. Tavin will briefly discuss the tomb, but will initially refuse aid in investigating the area.
After the main quest Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts, the war table operation Investigate Elven Ruins becomes available. Once completed this triggers a chain of events whereby a Venatori-Red Templar occupying force seizes control of Din'an Hanin. Tavin and the other accompanying Dalish, as well as the Inquisition scouts sent to investigate the tomb, are all slain in the process.

- Although Taven's name is spelled "Taven" when he introduces himself and when he is referred to in dialogue by other characters, his in-game model's name is spelled and reads "Tavin".
- As of 2022, his name now appears as "Tavin" when talking and meeting him.
- He wears the Vallaslin of Elgar'nan.
