Cry for the past—it shall claim us all. For here rest our saviors newly slain. Others lie beyond our reach. So we remember. Let the true name burn away and enter Din'an Hanin, the place where glory ends.

Din'an Hanin is a large elven ruin found in the southeastern region of Orlais. It is the final resting place of the Emerald Knights—a tomb located in the Dales, nestled in the Emerald Graves.

Background[]

In the days of elven Halamshiral, wolf companions walked alongside Emerald Knights, never leaving the side of their chosen knight. Wolf and elf would fight together, eat together, and when the knights slept, wolves would guard them.[1] Since the end of the Exalted March of the Dales and the fall of elven Halamshiral, Din'an Hanin has remained abandoned and largely forgotten.

Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Taven, First to Keeper Hawen, has left his clan in the Exalted Plains to recover elven history from the ruins of Din'an Hanin. The Inquisitor can gain access to Din'an Hanin by completing the Investigate Elven Ruins war table scouting operation in Skyhold. However, after Inquisition soldiers make contact with Taven's party, the Venatori kill both the elves and the Inquisition's forces to occupy the tomb. The Inquisitor can investigate their presence in the tomb via the side quest The Knight's Tomb.

The secret inside the tomb turns out to be contemporary elven accounts of the incident at Red Crossing which triggered the start of the Exalted March against the Dales.

Note: Din'an Hanin can only be accessed after completing the main quest Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts.

Notes[]

  • There is a supply cache available on the lower westernmost area of the Knight's Hall.

Bugs[]

  • There are two chests located behind door that requires the Deft Hands, Fine Tools perk. The first is random common loot, the second, which is presumably the rare loot chest containing the Polished Shield Schematic, is bugged: although it pings on the sonar mini-map, the chest cannot be interacted with, rendering its treasure inaccessible.
  • The other chest may also be bugged in some playthroughs. Clicking upon it causes the interact prompt to disappear and nothing is gained.
