If the Warden enters Figor's shop, before dealing with Jarvia, and approach Figor and the thugs, Roggar will try to extort the Warden by asking 10g for protection, while Figor will ask the Warden to not get involved in this as they don't know what kind of people they are. The Warden can pay the money, refuse or intimidate Roggar (this requires two points in Coercion). A Warden of Dwarf Commoner Origin requires no points in Coercion, as the intimidation will cause Roggar to recognize them which will be enough to make him and his men flee while warning them that Jarvia is looking for them, in order to exact revenge for Beraht's death.
The The Warden, in a non-quest scenario, can choose to persuade or intimidate Jarvia's Carta members, led by Roggar, to leave Figor alone (Coercion is not required for Dwarf Commoners). Alternatively, the Warden may attack and kill the Carta members, although this will cause Figor to become angry because he fears that the Carta will find out and kill him. He flees his shop and does not return for the remainder of the game, despite trying to persuade him otherwise. Another alternative to trade with him is to leave the Carta members alone. After dealing with Jarvia and her company, the thugs are automatically gone and Figor will trade. (After the thugs are gone, if you go into Figor's store and he's not there, leave the store, wander around Orzammar a few minutes, then go back in the store and he may be there.)}}

There are three benefits to having Figor's store available, although all are quite minor. First, it appears that Figor is the only shopkeeper that does not mark up his merchandise above the listed item value. This makes his wares the cheapest store items available, although he does not have much to offer. Second, Figor stocks an unlimited supply of flasks and is the only place in Orzammar with such quantities available. Third, he sells all ingredients required for the Dwarven Regicide Antidote which is needed for the quest Exotic Methods obtained from the Royal Palace of Orzammar. (It can happen that he does not have all ingredients for the Dwarven Regicide Antidote)

“I'm showing you the lowest prices I can afford, I assure you.”

Figor is a member of the merchant caste who runs Figor's Imports in the Commons of Orzammar.

Background

His shop will be locked to the public until Entering Jarvia's Hideout is being obtained. When the Warden passes the shop at this time, they will see Figor being harassed by Carta members led by Roggar. After a short conversation, they will enter his shop to continue the extortion.

Involvement

This section contains spoilers for:
Dragon Age: Origins.

If the Warden enters Figor's shop, before dealing with Jarvia, and approach Figor and the thugs, Roggar will try to extort the Warden by asking 10Gold for protection, while Figor will ask the Warden to not get involved in this as they don't know what kind of people they are.

Failing the intimidation or choosing to refuse to pay will cause the thugs to attack and be killed. This however will cause Figor to permanently flee for fear of retaliation. He will not return, leaving his shop inaccessible for the rest of the game. Alternatively, paying for the extortion or successfully intimidating the thugs will provide access to Figor's shop. The latter will also earn the merchant's gratitude. If the party defeats Jarvia before ever entering Figor's store, there will be no thug encounter and he will trade normally.

Inventory

Access to Figor's merchandise has three advantages, though all are relatively minor. Firstly, he is the only merchant without a mark-up, making his prices the lowest anywhere. Secondly, he stocks an unlimited supply of flasks. Thirdly, his starting inventory includes everything required for the Exotic Methods quest.
