Evangeline de Brassard was the Knight-Captain of the templars in the White Spire. She is a tall beautiful woman with black hair.
Background
Evangeline is of noble birth. Her relationship with her mother was strained since Evangeline enjoyed neither music, nor dancing and was not eager to seek a husband. Instead she learned martial skills from her father, a former chevalier. She joined the Templar Order. When her parents died, she refused to retire and to take up her inheritance. Her inheritance subsequently was bequeathed to her uncle, who gambled away his fortune and sold the estate.
Involvement
She was ordered by Lord Seeker Lambert to escort Wynne and her companions on their mission to rescue and retrieve the Tranquil elf, Pharamond. Lambert however, secretly gave her extra orders. Should Pharamond's research prove too dangerous or disprove the effectiveness of the Rite of Tranquility, she was to destroy the research and kill all involved in the mission. During the course of their journey, she begins to bond with her companions and becomes sympathetic to the mages' plight of oppression. She even develops feelings for the mage Rhys. When Pharamond was saved from being an abomination, she decides to go against Lambert's orders and allow her mage companions to fulfill their mission to the Divine. When battle erupted between the Circle of Magi conclave and Lambert's templars, she sided with the mages of White Spire. She dueled Lord Seeker Lambert in order to protect Rhys but was defeated and killed by him. Wynne brought her back to life by transferring her spirit to Evangeline. She is now located at Andoral's Reach with Rhys and the rebel mages.
Trivia
- Evangeline was almost created as an elven character in Dragon Age: Asunder, as elves are not barred from becoming Templars but are merely uncommon in their ranks.[1]
