- The spell has a red and black motif reminiscent of the blood magic spells in this game, however this spell does not require Blood of the First to be active, nor does it consume health when it isn't. Thus, it is likely a visual effect to give the impression that Merrill is using blood magic to cast this spell from a "story" perspective, even if the gameplay does not require it.
