Elora's Halla is a side quest located in the Dalish Camp. One of Elora's halla is sick and requires attention.
Background
Talking to Elora in the Dalish Camp triggers this quest. She will mention her halla is sick, but she does not know how to cure it.
Walkthrough
There are several ways to resolve the quest.
- NOTE: If you start this quest, Don't choose to ally with the werewolves and kill all the Dalish Elves, This quest will remain in your quest log and you won't be able to complete it.
Someone in the active party (this will only work with a companion on the PC version) with two ranks in the Survival skill is required in order to successfully diagnose the halla and three ranks in Coercion are required to successfully lie to her.
- Attempt to calm the halla and succeed at which point Elora will be able to diagnose the problem. The Warden doesn't have to be the one who has the two ranks in Survival.
- Pretend to examine the halla and lie to Elora about the results. If Elora fails to believe your lie, she will not speak to you again.
- NOTE for the PC Version: Even though there is a (Survival) option for the Warden to examine the halla, it is NOT possible for the Warden to solve the quest through this option even with four levels of Survival. It must be a party member with two levels of the Survival skill.
- Examine the halla and lie to Elora about the results.
- NOTE: Improved Coercion is required to sucessfully lie to Elora.
Result
- If the halla is "put out of its misery" (this can be achieved by pretending to examine the Halla and successfully lying to Elora about it) Elora will give The Warden the halla's antlers. These can then be taken to Varathorn to be converted into an amulet (+10 mental resistance).
- If you try to deceive Elora and fail, the quest will end as Elora will refuse to speak with you again and the Dalish will express confusion at you trying to deceive Elora.
- If the creature is saved by successfully calming the halla, you get 200 xp.
