* It is possible that Dworkin's name and character are an homage to Dworkin Barimen – also known as Dworkin The Mad – a character in Roger Zelazny's seminal fantasy novel series ''The Chronicles of Amber''<ref>[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chronicles_of_Amber Overview of Roger Zelazny's ''The Chronicles of Amber'']</ref>. In the novels Dworkin is a sorcerer and the paternal grandfather of the Amber clan<ref>[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_characters_in_the_Chronicles_of_Amber Dworkin in the ''Amber'' series]</ref>. While he is outwardly human (though being of the blood of Chaos, he can shape-shift), the books describe him as being dwarf-like.

It'll take more than that to kill us, beasties. Come again if you dare!

Dworkin Glavonak is a surface dwarf and the brother of Voldrik Glavonak. He is considered by most, including his brother, to be insane.

Background Edit

Dworkin is an unscrupulous inventor and explosives builder. His reputation has earned him several nicknames, such as "Dworkin the Mad," "Dworkin the Explosives Dwarf," and "mad exploding short person," by Sergeant Maverlies. Dworkin is obsessed with his work, even at the cost of four of his apprentices and a smith.

Involvement Edit

Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Edit

Dworkin's explosives

Dworkin's explosives in Heroes of Dragon Age

Dworkin is first seen during The Assault on Vigil's Keep, egging on a group of darkspawn and then blowing them up. He later requests that the Warden-Commander help him find Lyrium Sand for his bombs, so that he can make grenades for the commander. This can be done by completing Bombs Away!. The strength of his grenades depends on whether the commander tells him to be careful, do whatever he needs to do, or push himself as hard as he can.

Dworkin can also be shown a Stone Marker revealing the heroism of the casteless dwarves from Kal'Hirol as part of Memories of the Stone.

Dragon Age II Edit

During the quest Finding Nathaniel, Dworkin's cousin, Temmerin Glavonak, tells Hawke the Qunari forced Dworkin into hiding.

Quotes Edit

 • "The lads are hard at work. You'll have your explosives. Ha!"
 • "Casteless bearing arms. That'll go down well."
