New "Flags" feature for the wiki! (Please read if you edit articles!)
Hey, guys! As you may have seen in a recent forum topic, the Dragon Age wiki is helping wikia test out a new "flags" system. Read here for the official info.
What this basically is is a replacement for the current templates we use on articles such as , etc. Instead of manually going into an article to add one of these tags, you can just click on the edit dropdown box and select "flags" this will bring up a box with all of the current flags that can be used. Just check the box next to the one(s) you want to add, fill in the fields (like what info is missing, or the name of the article to "see also", and voila! They're added to the article. You can also hover over an existing flag on an article to edit it.
This looks to be a great new addition, both for new editors unsure of the exact wording of tags they want to use, and for all editors who are into ease and convenience.
It's still a work in progress so if you have suggestions/questions/concerns about the functions of the feature, be sure…
Holiday Season: Project Aeducan
Greetings everyone, this is the formal announcement of the upcoming Community Project.
As you probably already know, Dragon Age III: Inquisition is being currently developed by Bioware. The upcoming game will likely be released around Fall 2013 according to official sources. However, the wiki still has a lot of pages that require attention. After two main games and one expansion, there are several pages which require a clean up, extra information, pictures or confirmation of some claims.
With the Project Aeducan -- a community project which will last during the Christmas holidays, we aim in fixing the most important issues and be ready for the upcoming Dragon Age III.
Everyone who is interested in participating in this project, please reply here and let us know. There are absolutely no requirements, so even if you can spend one hour during the holidays for working with us in the project, feel free to sign up.
Furthermore, there are several positions within the Project, so even if you are no…
Search preferences
Wikia recently changed the behavior of the search function on all wikis last week. Since this week, registered users now have the option to enable "Go-Search" ("Under the Hood" in user preferences). Clicking on the magnifying glass should take the user directly to the article, and it will also become the default option when pressing "Enter". Unregistered users should create an account to enable this feature.

Wiki Achievements are on
We have exciting news! Your wiki has been chosen to receive the Achievement Awards extension. The Awards will help encourage people to make more edits and contribute to the wiki. They also help brand new people get a feel for what they can do on the wiki. Awards are only available for logged-in users, so they’ll help encourage people to log in when they’re making edits.
So what does this mean for you? More people editing on the wiki, more friends, more help, more content, and more fun!
Admins will be able to customize the names and photos used in the awards so that they fit your community to a T. And the awards appear automatically, so there's no extra work that needs to be done.
Everyone will start the game together once the Awards go live so that no one has an advantage or disadvantage when it comes to collecting badges. Badges will show up on your user page for everyone to see, and the leaderboard will let you see where you stack up against everyone else on the wiki.
Have fun!

New Spoiler Tags
Sadly this piece of new isn't nearly as exciting as a new companion or new DA game in the works, but due to some confusion over our new spoiler tags it will hopefully prove useful nonetheless. As many of you may have noticed we are in the process of replacing our old spoiler warnings with new spoiler warnings.
Apart from the appearance the major difference is that the new spoiler tag hides any spoiler text, allowing people to read articles without fear of spoilers. Rest assured that information has not been deleted, instead it has been hidden. Clicking on the spoiler warning will reveal the text.
New news system
As you can see, we have replaced the old news, added manually to the main page, with a new system based on Wikia's blog feature. Now anyone can add news by creating a blog page and putting it in the "News" category, as well as the appropriate subcategories, like "Dragon Age: Origins news", "December 2009 news" etc., which will make it appear on the main page, as well as the appropriate news pages. You can now also comment on the news posts. So if you find interesting news about Dragon Age, don't hesitate to share it!
Welcoming new admins
The wiki welcomes three new admins, Mytharox, Tierrie, and Pwr905. All have made major contributions to the site and all will no doubt, continue to help the Dragon Age wiki to expand and improve.
Our first bot
- The wiki gives a warm welcome to Caridin, our first user run bot. If you would like to help run him, make a request, or even just check out what he's up to, check out his user page, or this forum topic.
Two milestones reached
The wiki reaches two great milestones - 1,000 articles and 1 million pageviews/day! See more details and discuss this awesome achievement in this forum thread.
