Desperation is a mage ability upgrade from the Spirit tree in the Trespasser DLC for Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Information[]

  • Upgrades Revival
  • Damage Bonus: 200%
  • Attack Speed Bonus: 50%
  • Duration: 10 seconds
  • Cost: 30 mana
  • Cooldown Time: 30 seconds

Notes[]

  • Despite the description, Desperation can also be applied to the caster
  • When cast on conscious party members, Desperation applies a Life Ward status effect (different from the Revival upgrade), preventing their health from falling below 1 for 10 seconds.
  • When cast on unconscious party members or when conscious party members protected by Desperation's Life Ward status effect take lethal damage, Desperation applies a Rampage status effect (different from the Reaver ability) which confers combat bonuses, prevents health from falling below 1 for 10 seconds and protects from stun and knock-down effects. At the end of the Rampage status effect, the party member immediately falls unconscious.
  • Further casts of Revival don't refresh or extend the duration of Desperation's status effects; however, the 200% damage bonus and 50% attack speed bonus do stack while the Rampage status effect is active, making Revival one of the most potent abilities in the game.
  • A Necromancer under the effects of Simulacrum's spirit form is revived when it expires if protected by Desperation; however, once the Rampage status effect granted by Desperation expires, they will fall unconscious.
