The Deserted Farmland is a small patch of land between Lothering and Flemeth's Hut, and the location of a scripted encounter in Dragon Age: Origins
Involvement
If the Warden completed The Mabari Hound, the dog they helped cure at Ostagar will approach the Warden on the road and warn of a darkspawn raiding party. After slaying the darkspawn, the dog can be named and added to the party.
This encounter does not happen if the Warden is a Human Noble (even if you also completed the quest), since you already have a trained mabari.
