Dead Men Tell Some Tales

Dead Men Tell Some Tales is a side quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. A cheeky spirit invites the team to go on a treasure hunt.

Acquisition[]

This quest is available after completing Lair of the Dragon King, and is obtained by reading the note Request from Seer Rowan in Taash's room in the Lighthouse.

Walkthrough[]

A spirit holds the tale of a lost Lord of Fortune and a vanished treasure.

Find the lost treasure[]

At the marked location are the remains of an adventurer. Interacting with the remains summons a Spirit of Adventurer, who invites Rook to follow a map to find the treasure.

First clue: Follow from shark's maw to leviathan's tail and let not your spirits fail.

Solution: Search behind a large rock next to the tail of the huge skeleton embedded in the ground.

Second clue: Where the rocks stand tall, look for the shortest waterfall.

Solution: In another area of the map, a tiered waterfall serves as a staircase. Search by a skeleton located at the lowest of these for the last clue.

Third clue: My booty's within reach, you'll grab it near the beach.

Solution: In the marked area close to the Eluvian used to enter the Rivain Coast, the group is set upon by an undead pirate captain. Afterwards, the Spirit of Adventure reappears.

Rewards[]

Completing the quest yields:

Access to a cave with loot
Bond increase with active companions when opening the final door
Bellara, Emmrich and Taash approve when speaking to the Spirit of Adventure for the last time if in the active party (Note: It's possible to farm approval by saving after speaking with Adventure but before opening the door, then reloading and speaking with them again, but it would be very slow progress.)

Results[]

Seer Rowan reports that a spirit is asking for help in Rivain near Sharksmouth Mountain.

A spirit of adventure has asked for help locating lost treasure that a Lord of Fortune, Ritzinger, perished trying to find. Clues reportedly point the way to the treasure.
