Dead Man's Pass is a trail leading across a mountainous area just outside of Kirkwall.
Involvement[]
During Act 1, Varric hears a rumor that a dwarven merchant named Javaris is offering coin in exchange for help. At some point Hawke's travels outside of Kirkwall will be interrupted at Dead Man's Pass. Javaris and the mercenaries he hired will be under attack by giant spiders. After rescuing Javaris, Hawke can accept his offer to hunt Tal-Vashoth, in which case the quest Blackpowder Promise is added.
