The following characters, lore and events in this section are non-canon in Dragon Age and exist only within the Dragon Age tabletop RPG.

Dar'Hall'n are Hallas corrupted by the blight. They have lost their sentience and became ghouls, much like the blight wolves and corrupted spiders.

Background[edit | edit source]

Although it is a far cry from the Halla that it once was, its physique and presence had been considerably enhanced. It quickly gathers a harem of females and dispatched any who stood in its way, elf, human, halla or other creature. The Beast appears to have no intelligence, beyond its enhanced animal instinct.

History[edit | edit source]

So far only a sole specimen of the Dar'Hall'n has been encountered. It was spotted during the Fifth Blight in the Frostback Mountains by a clan of Dalish and later several Grey Wardens who ultimately slew the creature. The exact nature of the creation is unknown, though some wardens speculated it may have been a plot to somehow weaken the Dalish. The Dar'Hall'n is itself sterile but exudes a strong herd attraction over untainted female Halla and is very aggressive to other Halla stags. The result was the Dalish losing their halla, while also driving off or injuring other Halla stags and breaking the reproductive cycle, undermining the Halla population.

Tainted Halla ostensibly grow larger and sprout enormous bony spikes that protrude from their fur, causing severe wounds.
