Cornered in the Catacombs is a side quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Acquisition[]
This quest is available after completing On Blighted Wings or On Deadly Wings. Speak to Warden Vesta in Dock Town. Vesta will tell you that there are darkspawn in the nearby catacombs that need to be killed before the invade the city.
Walkthrough[]
Wardens are in Minrathous to help with the blight, but trouble strikes in the catacombs.
Make your way to the catacombs. The darkspawn will keep coming until you destroy the blight boils nearby. This will stop them spawning and you can move onto the next area.
After the second round of darkspawn attacks your path will be blocked by a covered blight boil. Climb to the top of a nearby platform and get Davrin to call Assan to destroy the boil at the top of the room. This will temporarily make the other boils active. Destroy these before time runs out and then destroy the one blocking your way. If you run out of time you can call on Assan again and finish off what is left. If Davrin isn't with you then Rook can do it with his dagger.
Follow the path around and another closed boil will block your way. Follow the path around where large rocks are blocking a beam. Use Harding's ability to move the rock (or Rook can with the dagger if she isn't present). Once you have moved all the rocks you can run to the end and destroy the active boil. Walk back, destroy the boil and take the elevator.
Destroy the boil on the ceiling which will trigger the darkspawn. Destroy all available boils while fighting the darkspawn. A large darkspawn will appear early in the fight, he must be defeated before the last blight boil will become unprotected and be able to be destroyed. Until he is killed and the final boil destroyed, other darkspawn will continue to spawn from the blight pool. Once all darkspawn and blight boils are defeated, return to Warden Vesta.

Completing the quest yields:
- 500 XP
- 50 Grey Warden Strength
- 50 Shadow Dragons Strength
- 300 Gold
- 5 Fade-touched crystal
- Increased bonds with companions

Darkspawn swarm through the catacombs and overwhelm the Wardens fighting them. If the darkspawn aren't stopped, they could reach the surface and wreak havoc on the city above.
The darkspawn in the catacombs were pushed back. The Grey Wardens and Shadow Dragons will continue working together to keep watch on the situation for the people of Minrathous.
