The Constable of the Grey is a Warden-Commander's second-in-command. The Constable, colloquially called Warden-Constable, acts as the field commander and steps in when the Warden-Commander is away.
Background[]
As a Warden-Commander's second-in-command, the Warden-Constable takes over when the Warden-Commander is called away on political or recruiting duties. In such cases, the Warden-Constable usually names a Senior Warden as their second. Their duties can also involve taking charge of the operations in a particular region.[1] Many Warden-Constables eventually go on to become Warden-Commanders.
