Consoling Words is an Act 2 companion quest for Merrill in Dragon Age II.
Acquisition[]
It is obtained automatically at the start of Act 2 if Hawke didn't take Bethany or Carver along to The Deep Roads Expedition.
Walkthrough[]
Visit Merrill's Home at the Kirkwall Alienage in Lowtown and speak to her. She will ask about what happened to Hawke's sibling, and comforts Hawke.
Result[]
Regardless of dialogue options, no friendship or rivalry points are gained.
Notes[]
- If the sibling either joined the Wardens or died during the expedition, the quest "Mourning" was supposed to take place.[1] However, it has since been cut from the game, but may reappear if the game has not been patched.[2]
