Lady Colombe is an Orlesian noblewoman. She is one of three handmaidens to Empress Celene I, the others being Lady Couteau and Lady Fleur.
Background[]
Lady Colombe and her fellow handmaidens act as the public face of Empress Celene. They wear the mask of House Valmont, which identifies them as such. Incidentally, Lady Couteau notes that the masks are extremely fashionable.
Involvement[]
Lady Colombe and her fellow handmaidens greet the Inquisitor in the garden of the Winter Palace at the peace talks to resolve the War of the Lions. They pass on a message from Empress Celene I: an offer of support once Gaspard has been defeated. Afterwards, they return to the Grand Ballroom, where they act as important points of contact during the course of the quest, serving as Celene's voice, eyes and ears while the Empress negotiates the political future of Orlais with Gaspard de Chalons and, later, Briala. It is possible to trade gossip with Colombe and her fellow ladies, sound them about about possible conspiracy theories, and bring objects and suspicions of note to them to progress the quest's search for clues.
If Michel de Chevin was recruited as an agent for the Inquisition, Celene sends Lady Colombe in secret to seek a reconciliation. If the Inquisitor informs Ser Michel of this, Lady Colombe acts as Michel and Celene's go-between and becomes an "expected guest" in Skyhold.[1]
