Found on a fallen Venatori:
Why should we feel shame for following an elven god? Yes, our Old Gods were elven, and I say to you, so what? We have always known the elves possessed magical aptitude, surpassing even some of our altus. Their deficiencies lie not in their natural ability, but in their failure to recognize it and bring it to its fullest potential.
Think on it. After the loss of their leaders, the elven empire fell. All of their magic could not forestall their ruin. And Tevinter took what was left and worked miracles. Now, upon his return, Elgar'nan seeks out the Venatori. Not the Dalish or any other elves.
Raw power is worthless if not used artfully. Our lord Elgar'nan understands this, and he honors the Venatori by choosing us. Remember that.
