This Child lives in the Village of Haven. He has been indoctrinated to never trust a "lowlander". When the Warden arrives to Haven, they can speak with him and learn some vague yet disturbing things.

Dialogue[]

It is possible to initiate dialogue with the child the first two times you interact with him, but there is no way to choose all the options available (on console; there may be a mod available to PC users that would allow you to go through all the options) so saving before speaking to him is recommended. These interactions don't seem to cause any approval changes in the party (only tested with party of Alistair, Wynne and Leliana).

Who are you? You shouldn't be here.

  1. Off with you, child!
    • I'm not a child! Lowlanders don't belong here. (ends dialogue)
  2. Who are you?
    • I asked you first.
      • I'm [insert Warden's name here]
        • Lowlanders don't belong here. (ends dialogue)
      • I'm looking for Brother Genitivi.
        • Who? Why would you come here looking for someone? Lowlanders don't belong here. (ends dialogue)
      • I don't have time to amuse you, child.
        • I'm not a child! Lowlanders don't belong here. (ends dialogue)
      • I'm a Grey Warden. Do you know what that is?
        • No, and I don't care neither. Lowlanders don't belong here. (ends dialogue)
  3. Where is everyone else?
    • In the Chantry. Mother wanted me to go to the Chant... but she doesn't get to tell me what to do anymore! I'm sick of listening to Father Eirik along with the babies and the girls. Soon I'll be old enough to go up the mountains and...
      • Go up the mountain?
        • Nothing. It's just nicer up there. You wouldn't understand. Lowlanders don't belong here. (ends dialogue)
      • Father Eirik? Why do you have male priests?
        • Don't know. Just is that way. Lowlanders don't belong here. (ends dialogue)
      • And what?
        • Nothing. It's just nicer up there. You wouldn't understand. Lowlanders don't belong here. (ends dialogue)
  4. Do you know Brother Genitivi?
    • Who? Why would you come here looking for someone? Lowlanders don't belong here. (ends dialogue)

What? Why are you looking at me like that?

  1. (Persuade) I bet you're a clever boy. What do you know about Haven?
    • Haven is Haven, but I have a secret. Do you want to see?
      • Yes. Show me.
        • (The boy pulls out something from his pocket and shows it to you: A finger-bone, bleached white by the sun and polished through constant handling.)
          • Er... who did that belong to?
            • Don't know. It's lucky. I keep it with me. Don't tell anyone, all right?
          • Where did you get that?
            • Over by the mountains. It's lucky. I keep it with me. Don't tell anyone, all right?
          • Ew. Creepy.
            • It's lucky. I keep it with me. Don't tell anyone, all right?
      • No. Never mind. (ends dialogue)
  2. (Intimidate) Tell me what you know, or you'll be sorry you ever saw me.
    • Y-you're the one who'll be sorry! Never trust a lowlander! (ends dialogue) (Child disappears after dialogue if you choose this option)
  3. Never mind. (ends dialogue) (choosing this option allows you to exit the dialogue interaction to return to later, although there is no benefit to you or your party in doing so)

Note: Once the second dialogue has been done, interacting with the child will simply result in him cycling through the quotes below in no particular order; sometimes he may repeat the same line up to two or three times.

Rhyme[]

The boy is rhyming the following:

"Come, come, bonny Lynne; tell us, tell us where you've been
Were you up, were you down
Chasing rabbits ‘round the town
Come, come, bonny Lynne; tell us, tell us where you've been
Come, come, bonny Lynne; we've a bed to put you in
It is soft, it is warm
It will shelter from the storm
Come, come, bonny Lynne; we've a bed to put you in
Dear, dear bonny Lynne sleeps the peaceful crib within
A mossy stone, a finger bone
No one knows but Lynne alone
Dear, dear bonny Lynne sleeps the peaceful crib within"
