Chateau d'Onterre

Chateau d'Onterre is a vast estate in the Dales and was once the seat of House d'Onterre. It was abandoned many years ago under suspicious circumstances. Though the Inquisitor may find out what really happened through exploring the building and reading from letters, notes and diary entries. By reading these it is revealed that the D'onterre family's daughter was a Mage, fearing their family name would be sullied they kept their daughters magic capabilities hidden, little did they know this would destroy the family. The daughter eventually made contact with a demon that manifested itself in reality after manipulating the young girl, it proceeded to make her do evil actions and it ultimately killed all the family and servants on the estate and afterwards kept the estate looking like it had only recently been lived in and when the inquisitior and their party explore the chateau, it is this very demon that causes the lights to go on/off, lights fires and spawns demons to attack the inquisitor and their party.

Notable items

Superb Ring of Staggering and an Invasion mosaic piece are found behind the locked door on the Grand Balcony (requires Deft Hands, Fine Tools)
A second Invasion mosaic piece can be found on the south-west balcony. This is accessed by jumping onto a ledge through an open window in the second level bedchambers.
An Elven artifact is found in a small room opening on to the north-west corner of the lower level Ballroom (northernmost room).
