If we want to get away with this, we can't leave one man alive to tell Beraht what we’ve done. -Leske

Having been abducted by Beraht, the Dwarf Commoner Warden now must escape Beraht's clutches before it is too late.

Background

You have ended up in Beraht's custody. Beraht is quite put out with you, and hope for your continued survival is slim if you don't manage to get out of here.

Walkthrough

But to do so, you must first get out of the holding cell. There are several ways to accomplish this:

  • Pick the lock if you possess the skill (Deft Hands)
  • Talk to the guard, and the pick his pocket for the key while he is distracted (Stealing)
  • Talk to the guard, and fake an illness so that he may come inside (Persuade)

Note: The Dwarf Commoner Warden has a point in Stealing by default, making the second option a guaranteed success. On the other hand, the third option is hilarious.

Free Leske from his cell. While you can't pick the lock, you can loot the key from the guard's corpse.

Note: It's not necessary, but his presence enhances the chances of your survival dramatically.

Most of the areas are blocked off, although there is still some loot to be found. Of note is the chest, which is marked in the map.

The common tactic of immobilizing your opponents with Dirty Fighting then backstabbing them applies.

At the end of the area Beraht and his two thugs are waiting; there is no way to proceed without killing him.

Loot the area and the locked rooms. Press further through the secret entrance to Janar Armorers-to-be, and, since there is nothing to do here (except to scare the shop keeper), exit the shop. In the ensuing conversation, you may elect to speak with your sister and/or Leske before your departure.

Result

Beraht is dead, and you are given a chance to make something of your life.
