“There are those who can and those who can't, Inquisitor. And those who can't make sure those who can...can.”

Cabot is the bartender at Herald's Rest in Skyhold.

Background

Originally from Orzammar, not much is else is known about Cabot beyond that he chose to travel to the surface and his family has since prospered as drunks and bartenders. Cabot took to it rather easily by simply as he puts it "What doesn't taste bad can probably be mixed and still taste good." Even as he is rather glib if not curt, he's observant enough to get a general consensus of the Inquisitions state of mind. Although he tries to humor the Inquisitor somewhat when asked questions about his background as well as how the Inquisition is doing it is rather difficult to tell. His hardened emotional state more than likely has something to do with his family rather than personal choices. Beyond the small amount of information gleamed from small and short encounters Cabot plays both a small and crucial role in the Inquisition, as a keeper of morale. As many Bartenders are construed into alcoholic assistants, they can be a both an awakening and place of rest, Cabot fills in the happy medium of a strangers ear being more comforting than talking with family.

While Cabot is a surface dwarf by definition, he chose to aid the Inquisition by a serving as a bartender. As he said "If I could throw fire, I would. If I had a strong sword arm, I would be on the front lines, but if I can serve better by serving drinks, I will."

Involvement

The Inquisitor has the option to ask him about the rumors that are going around.
