Bloom is a unique battleaxe in Dragon Age II. It is among the most powerful two-handed weapons in the game, dealing pure cold damage, runes withstanding.
Acquisition[]
Looted from an Arcane Horror during the Act 3 quest The Awiergan Scrolls: Third Aspect.
Background[]
Our hero strode the winding road,
Defiant of the vile.
Uncertain pause for home and cause,
When met the monster's smile.
A man his kin through blood and sin
A bastard of the gloom.
A rising cut through bone and gut,
An awful skyward bloom.

—From Codex entry: BloomNotes[]
- Activated talents deal cold damage with this weapon equipped.
- The two rune slots are great for installing Runes of Lightning; against demons, undead, and raiders, most of whom are vulnerable to electricity, the weapon deals +32 damage in total, almost the value of the weapon's base damage. This can make it a more cost-effective alternative to Sundering for the purposes of demon-slaying, while retaining the cold damage for rage demons and switching to The Celebrant to slay Revenants and other spirit-weak enemies.
Trivia[]
This weapon's appearance is identical to Top-Chop Brand.
