Bevin is a local boy from Redcliffe Village. He is the brother of Kaitlyn and plays a large role in the quest A Missing Child.

Involvement

After The Warden speaks with Kaitlyn in the Redcliffe Chantry, they may search for Bevin in Kaitlyn's Home. He is found hiding in a closet on the lower floor.

Result

If the Warden returns the sword (called the Green Blade) at the end of the battle, the Epilogue will mention that Bevin went on to be a great adventurer, often telling of how his sword was used by the Hero of Ferelden to defend Redcliffe.

-'''Bevin''' is a local boy of [[Redcliffe Village]]. He is going through a hard time right now. His father has recently left to go fight with the other village men, and died in battle. His mother, all he and his older sister [[Kaitlyn]] had left, was recently captured by the undead. He was left with his sister to watch over him. Now with [[Kaitlyn]] being the only family he has, growing up is difficult. He feels he can never have a normal life as a normal boy. He sees that he needs to be the man of the house, watching his sister, and managing the house. Kaitlyn has been bringing home different men every night. She takes them into their mothers old room, and pleases them. Bevin is kept up all night hearing the bed hit the wall and listening to the moans of his sister and the sometimes violent thrusts of her companion for the night. He falls asleep crying every night. On nights like these he cries because his sister has to prostitute herself to take care of them, and he cries every other night because he morns the death of his parents. One day, he and Kaitlyn get into an argument. He walked in one day to find Kaitlyn kissing a man on the family room couch. Angry, Bevin forces the man to leave. [[Kaitlyn]] shouts at him, "Why can't you let me be happy? Why can't you see that we need help?". Furious and in a desperate attempt to find a come back, Bevin yells back, "We are happy Kaitlyn! We don't need help from any of these men you please! I am brave! I will fight for us!".
-As [[Kaitlyn]] falls to the floor in tears he runs out the front door and makes a quick run for the back of the house. Sitting on the roof with his face crying into his knees, he hears the front door reopen. He hears Kaitlyn crying his name, "Bevin!? Bevin where are you?" He stays quiet.

He pulls out a key and opens his fathers chest. In it, there is a sward that belonged to his grandfather. It was used to slay dragons and defend his family. Just what he wanted to use it for. He made an attempt to wield the sward, but he could not manage to pick it up out of the chest, for it was too heavy. So he then kneeled in front of it, looking at it in awe.

He slams the chest closed and runs downstairs to his bedroom just to the right.

As he kicks his dirty clothes around at the bottom of his closet, [[The Warden]] hears him. You persuade him to come out of the closet and he will tell you that he was trying to retrieve his grandfathers sward, [[The Green Blade]] that was used by his grandfather, a famous [[dragon]] hunter, and Bevin feels that if his father were still alive, he would have used the Green Blade to defend the village, and Bevin wished to use the sword to defend the village too, but upon attempt to wield the sward, he realized that blade was still too large for him. He can be persuaded to give the Warden the key to his fathers chest in order to retrieve the sword.
