Before the Dawn is a companion quest for Cullen in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Acquisition
Available after talking to Cullen in Skyhold. This quest should be completed before taking on What Pride Has Wrought, since it is, plotwise, a prerequisite for dealing with Samson.
Walkthrough
The first part of the quest requires you to find three smuggler letters located in the Emerald Graves. The letter locations are marked on the map but you will need to use Search function to find them as they are hidden.
Take the letters to Cullen. He then informs you that he has found the templars' primary source of red lyrium in a quarry near Sahrnia in Emprise Du Lion. The next objective is to raid the quarry.
